Damian seemed to be in a rush, wanting to get out of that room as fast as he could. He led me down familiar halls until we entered his office once again. He let go of my arm and went to sit at his desk.

"Is everything alright?" I gained the courage to say.

"I am sorry about the impertinent questions," Damian said, looking at me for the first time since coming into this room. "I didn't think my father and Greyson would be attending breakfast with us, otherwise I would have tried to avoid it."

"Why?" I sat down across from him. "I thought it was going alright."

"You were being questioned by my father," Damian gave me a serious look. "I know that it must have been hard. He is not an easy person to be around."

"Like father, like son," I smirk.

"What does that mean?" Damian had a look of hurt and confusion wash over his face before he regained his composure.

"I just mean that both of you can be so stiff," I shrugged, trying to not hurt his feelings anymore. "You didn't even speak to him the whole meal and you seemed serious the whole time."

"I am not stiff," Damian glared.

I shrunk in my seat, knowing I have now offended him. The scared part of me was telling me to run, but my wolf was telling me to relax. That our mate would never hurt us. So I just sat there, frozen.

"I am sorry," Damian noticed instantly and calmed down. "I can have a bad temper sometimes. I didn't mean to take it out on you. Please forgive me?"

"Yeah," I nod and try to act calm.

"I just didn't think you wanted to stay. The more questions that were asked the more you seemed to shy away." Damian stood up and came around to my side of the desk. "Forgive me for being rude and abruptly making you leave?"

"It is alright," I nod. "But I can handle myself. I will tell you when I want to leave. Heck, I will just stand up and walk away when I want to."

"Because you can," Damian nods in understanding. When he sees my confusion he clarifies by saying, "because you are a shield."

"Not exactly what I mean," I shrugged. "But I guess."

"So you have never felt the need to follow an Alpha's orders?" Damian asked.

"Only once in my life," I tell him.

"When was that?" Damian sat in the chair beside me, clearly interested to know my answer.

"It was when I was young," I looked down at my hands. "I was given an order, but I fought not to go through with it. I guess that was the last time."

"Who was the alpha?" Damian asks.

"I don't remember," I say yet another lie.

"But you haven't felt anything since?" Damian seems to be asking to clarify something.

"Why?" I can't help but ask, wanting to know why he is suddenly so interested.

"I was thinking last night, alphas tend to keep their Luna's at the pack house for fear that they can be used as bate over alphas. They submit because of the alpha command. But if you don't feel that command, then you are safer," Damian rambles.

"I don't understand," I shake my head. "I am going to be kidnapped?"

"I don't want to alarm you or anything, but the likelihood of it happening is greater because you are the future Luna Queen," Damian puts a hand on my leg, trying to soften the blow of his words.
