Sarek

6 earth days ago

Dragging my eyes across the table, I was met with exhausted stares from my clan. We had been up for hours, sitting at this table, trying to figure out how to approach this Earth issue.

There were still humans running amok on the planet. That needed to be fixed.

I had originally wanted to harvest the planet for its natural resources that it had an abundance of. It could fuel our planet and our sister planets for many years. However, the humans on the planet were the problem.

Quite frankly, we needed them. They were the perfect fit that us Latiquens were looking for. Their blood held the answers that we have been searching for.

Dragging a hand across my face, I let my irritation at Azan show when he continued to speak. "Maybe we can just send in some more clans to drive them towards our settlements. Then, we can easily capture them and within two weeks we can harvest the planet."

"You know we can't send in any more clans. We need them here and on the two other planets that we are trying to harvest."

"Then I can go and actually manage a planet that can't be managed by your current general."

I relaxed back into my seat while shooting him a look that said what I thought about that. "My general graduated the best in his field and won multiple arenas. I believe he can fish them out and get them somewhere safely."

Azan leaned forward in his seat and his face twisted into a sneer before he barked out, "And you remember what happened on initiation day. Thousands of humans were killed because your general gave orders to kill them."

"He gave orders to kill the humans that were resisting."

"The footage shows that most were fleeing, not resisting."

"There's millions of humans and they breed like a taka, it was a very small portion killed in comparison to their numbers as a whole."

Azan put his hands on the table and stood up. His eyes hardened as he looked me up and down. I knew he was angry about the humans that were unfortunately killed, but casualties are bound to happen in these circumstances and he needed to let the issue go. It had been several months since it happened anyway.

That didn't stop him from keeping his mouth shut though. "What if our mate was one of those humans that died. Are we just going to live without one for eternity?"

"Azan, you're being unreasonable. There's millions of humans and more than one can be a perfect fit for us. They are still trying to capture the stragglers that have been hiding on that planet. We don't even know if it will be a human that's our mate."

"The ten other species we've integrated into our galaxy say otherwise. Our mate is human. They are the closest to our species that we have found."

I hummed in agreement before trying to assure him. "We will find her Azan. It's only a matter of time."

"That still doesn't fix the problem with the General of Earth."

"You are correct." Looking towards Kagin, I grunted out, "Kagin will have a word with him tomorrow then."

Kagin sighed, but nodded in affirmation.

Azan spoke again and I could hear the irritation in his tone. "Make sure you tell him to test every single human woman that they find and that we hear about it as soon as they find a match."

Kagin tiredly looked at Azan and gave one simple nod before going back to reading the reports in front of him.

Azan had a fascination with human women. We have sampled a few together in the past, but they were not my priority and finding a mate was definitely not my priority right now.
