The next couple of months go smoothly.

I wake up on my birthday, fully expecting to see J beside me but he's not there.

I walk to the kitchen, nope.

I check everywhere and find nothing.

I go back to the room and see a note card.

Goodmorning, I had to go to an off season practice this morning. - J

No happy birthday.

No I love you.

No 'baby' or 'sweetheart' or even 'princess.'

I walk to the bathroom before remembering I'm not allowed to pee.

Over the past 2 months I've had to pee more than I've ever had to pee in my life.

These babies I swear.

We were supposed to go to see the gender today together but I guess he can't come.

I feel sad but I get dressed and get into the car.

I head to the office and go to see Dane. I've gotten to know the doctor and we've been out with him and his wife and they're awesome.

I lay down on the table and he rubs the stuff over it.

"How's it going?" He smiles.

"Eh." I shrug.

"Where's Jimmy?" He asks with a frown.

"Off season practice." I sigh.

He nods in understanding.

"I just don't understand." I huff "I woke up to a note that said 'Goodmorning, I had to go to an off season practice this morning - J.' where the 'Goodmorning baby, Happy birthday, I'm so sorry, I had a practice this morning, I love you so much, your fiance, Jimmy.' who doesn't even say I love you."

He nods "It's your birthday?"

I nod "Yeah."

He does his thing and smiles "Do you want the genders now?"

I nod "Yes. And you're positive?"

He nods. "Just tell you? Or write them down?"

"Write them down, I'll open them with J."

He writes them down, gives me some pictures and I get going.

I stop on the way with the card in the envelope at a restaurant to pick up some breakfast.

I walk in and see George Kittle in the back which confuses me. I thought they had a practice today.

I walk over.

He smiles "Hey."

"Hi." I say nervously. "Did y'all have practice this morning?

He shakes his head "N-" he starts before I see something register in his eyes "Yes. Why?"

I nod "Nothing."

He looks concerned.

I turn but he says "Wait."

I turn and see him.

"Sit with me?"

I nod and sit across form him.

"What's the envelope?" He looks at the corner sticking out of my purse.

"The genders of our babies." I half smile.

"Babies?" He asks with a smile.

I nod "J didn't say anything?"

"I mean we knew you were pregnant, but babies? Plural?" He asks.
