Veronica and I shared a look. I saw guilt in her eyes but it was Halloween and Kat's parents were out of town so she was throwing a party.
All we really wanted to know was, "Where's Lexi?"
"You can't miss her." Kat giggled. She was right. Lexi was awkwardly dressed like Bob Ross in comparison to Cassie's sexy costume.
Nate Jacobs had been temporarily expelled from school. Despite that, sometimes he'd check on Maddy. He'd also checked up on Jules. And Veronica when he wasn't visiting Heather at the fucking rehab center her mom sent her to.
Heather didn't know that Veronica was involved in Nate's plan. He left that part out on purpose. "You're leaving Veronica out of this? She's a fucking girl scout cookie. She can't handle that." She actually got released from rehab the day before Halloween but her mom had hidden everything that she could poison herself with. And because he was expelled, her mom had Nate watch her while she was at work.
