"That's great! When are you leaving then?" tanong ni mommy. I just told her about Wilmana's offer.
Nandito ako ngayon sa bahay. Magkaharap lang kaming naguusap dito sa couch ng living room.
"Seriously ma? Gusto mo na akong umalis kaagad? Hindi mo man lang ba ako mami-miss?" I tease.
"It's not that." She smiles and continues, "Your Tito Ted and I are planning on getting married pero aalis ka naman."
Tama bang konsensiyahin ako?
"Kailan niyo ba balak magpakasal? Pwede naman akong umuwi dito?" I offer.
"You can do that?" na excite bigla.
"Yeah, of course ma." Bakit naman sana hindi, di ba? Ba't pag umalis ba ako wala na akong babalikan?
"That would be great! But have you talked to Kevin about this?"
I was avoiding any topics involving him. Simula nung nagkausap kami that night, he's been treating me coldly. I go to his condo every night kasi hindi naman niya ako pupuntahan kung di ako pupunta sa kanya pero hindi rin naman niya ako pinapansin. He won't even get on the same bed as me. I don't mean it like that. I mean, if we could just lie down beside each other and talk it out, di ba?
"Uhh, yeah." I smile. A fake one of course.
"Anong sabi niya?"
"He's still thinking about it... I'm sure we'll be able to talk it out." paliwanag ko. Ending the discussion. But I know she won't have it kaya iniba ko na lang yung subject.
"I'm leaving in a month. Nakapirma na ako so I just have to fly there. The contract starts next month pa naman so..."
"I'm really glad you're exploring your options, Chris." my mom smiles at me.
"Don't go crying on me now, ma." I laugh.
"My baby's all grown up..." she leans in to hug me. I just let her blabber about it for like the next thirty minutes at nagpaalam na rin ako. I'm planning on going to Kev's office pa eh. Baka sakaling pansinin niya naman na ako dun. Psh

"Where is the office of Mr. Lim?" tanong ko sa may reception dahil hindi naman ako nagpupunta ng office niya eh.
"Do you have an appointment, ma'am?"
Ano ba to? Masyado namang protektado kay Kevin. Gaaah. Kailagan ko bang magpa appointment? Psh.
"Uhm... I'm actually planning on surprising him. I'm his girlfriend." nakangiting sabi ko pa pero nag-iba ata yung timpla ng mukha niya nung sumagot ako.
What? I'm still his girlfriend. I didn't break up with him.
"Uh, ma'am sorry po but he's in an important meeting right now." explain niya sa'kin.
"Okay. I can just wait. Where is his office?" mataray na sabi ko. Inuubos niya pasensiya ko eh.
I know it's rude but I don't fcking care right now. I want to see my boyfriend.
"It's on the 10th floor ma'am." sagot na lang niya sa'kin. Mabuti naman at nagkakaintindihan kami. Nagpunta na ako ng elevator at umakyat.
Everyone is busy on this floor kaya naman wala masyadong nakapansin sa'kin. I know he's an executive director here so I'll just look for his office which is hindi naman mahirap hanapin dahil may nakalagay pa sa door niya. Kevin Lim underlined, Executive Director.
I didn't bother knocking at pumasok na lang ako agad. Nasa meeting naman daw siya eh kaya wala siya dito, malamang.
But my eyes won't lie to me because he's here and with a woman. Hindi nila ako napansing pumasok dahil nandun sila sa dulo ng office where his table is located and they're near the full glass windows.
