Chapter 5: The flight (Part 1)

Ezra POV

After 20 minutes we finally got to the airport.

I was so relieved to finally get out of Mr Grudge's van.

Once we unloaded all of our stuff, Mr Grudge drove away.

I then turned to Ava.

"Are you insane? Letting Mr Grudge drive us?" I said.

"Well, i wanted to rent a limo but our budget is really low." Ava said.

"Couldn't you have just called a taxi or something?" I asked.

"Oh, i never thought of that." Ava said sheepishly.

I rolled my eyes and facepalmed

"Well, lets just be glad thats over with." Maudie said walking to the entrance

We all trailed behind her as Kyle struggled to carry his bag along with 4 of Ava's

I feel sorry for him but its hard not to smile.

He looked hilarious.

Ava then spotted something very useful

"Look i see luggage trollies!" Ava said pointing to a stack of luggage trollies.

She ran to get one and Kyle placed all the bags on it.

"Thank God." Kyle said.

We walked around trying to find our terminal.

A/N Im just gonna skip to when theyre in the plane. I dont know how to explain the procedures in the airport

We got on the Airplane.

Ava had manage to get us into Economy class

We found our seats.

Me and Maudie had seats next to each other while Ava and Kyle had seats next to each other behind us.

I looked at Maudie to see what she was up to.

She grabbed her earphones from her bag and connected it to her phone.

She looked over to me and smiled.

"You wanna have a listen?" Maudie asked

"Sure." I said.

She placed one of the earphones in my ear. (A/N Idk how to phrase it)

"Im sure you will like this one." Maudie said tapping her phone.

I then heard Revolution girl from the January Valentines.

"Really?" I said.

"Come on, its catchy. And I've caught you singing it once." Maudie said.

"What." I said.

Has she been spying on me when im home alone?

"Remember everyone, including you, sang it in the classroom that one time. The song is very catchy." Maudie said.

"Right i forgot about that." I said a bit relieved.

"Why? Have you sang it another time before?" Maudie asked.

"N-no, definitely not." I said.

"Liar." Maudie Mumbled.

"HEY. I heard that." I said a bit loudly.

Ava then shushed us from behind.

"Shhh your gonna wake up Kyle." Ava said pointing to Kyle.

"Sorry." I whispered.

I then turned back my head to Maudie.

She was looking out the window.

She looked like she was in deep thoughts.

"Maudie... You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. Im fine. Just worried about the Aunt Rosita thing" Maudie whispered.

Before i could respond the airplane started moving.

Then the airplane started going down the runaway.

It was very shaky.

I saw a scared look on Maudie's face.

Is she scared of flying?

"Maudie, are you scared of flying?" I asked.

"A little bit. I usually hold my dads hand during a fligh-"Maudie said.

Before she could say anything, I grabbed Maudie's hand and held it tightly.

WHAT AM I DOING?

SINCE WHEN WAS I BOLD ENOUGH TO DO THIS?

Maudie then looked at me with a surprised look.

Then she smiled.

"I-is it better now.." I asked.

"Yes, thank you." Maudie said as she leaned her head on my shoulder.

WHAT IS THIS

WHATS HAPPENING

AND IS AVA WATCHING US?

I had to make sure Maudie was definitely okay first

I then realized Maudie was already asleep.

That girl can sleep through anything

Even in a shaky Airplane.

I turn behind to check if Ava was spying and gushing at us again but she was too occupied.

Ava was asleep and her head was resting on Kyle's shoulders.

They looked sickeningly adorable.

At least now i can tease her with Kyle when she teases me with Maudie. :)

Thank god she didn't see us though

I analyzed everything that was happening.

Right now My crush's head is on my shoulder, with our fingers interlocked.

All this while listening to the January Valentines playlist.

Am i in some romantic comedy?

My life has turned into THIS

I dont know if i like it.

It is going to be a 16 hour long flight, so i might as well sleep.

This is going to be a really long week..
