chapter 'kaksikymmentäyksi' twenty-one

it wasn't vasiliki's decision, but joonas stayed the night. not in her bed, she'd push him off anyways by accident. she liked the space in her bed just how it was.

although he was up early, blamed his lack of sleep on the girl. she gave him a bed, there was nothing more she could do - he didn't even use the blankets she so kindly gave him.

"and now my neck's sore," the boy groaned, rubbing where the tensed muscles were.

"if this is a way to get a massage, you've failed miserably," the redhead rolled her eyes, hair placed messily in front of her face.

she had rushed downstairs after hearing a racket from the kitchen. it was just joonas failing to make breakfast and had wasted a whole bunch of food.

"if you can't cook then maybe you should've had some cereal instead!" she scolded, leaning against the wall beside her, "and i'm not cleaning this up, this is your fault."

the guitarist threw the pan in the sink just after he scraped the burnt pieces into the bin, "it's not my fault, maybe you should have better appliances."

we love a self-absorbed, blond boy who doesn't own up to his mistakes.

"maybe you shouldn't go looking through my shit," vasiliki sassed back. her voice droned out expressing her tiredness.

she pushed herself away from the wall, removing the hair blurring her vision.

"don't have such enticing things on your computer then."

the redhead placed her hands on the counter, leaning forward, "yes, because a white page with lines and dots on it is 'enticing' is it?"

he didn't respond, only getting back to his 'chore'. with a triumphant look, the girl retreated from her position, sitting on one of the stools.

"you didn't answer my question from last night about that."

vasiliki furrowed her eyebrows, "about the sheet music? there's no point in transcribing it from digital to notation, that's an extra step for no reason."

"it's still too many mathematical equations," he concluded, drying the mess he had made, "you're telling me you record every instrument by yourself?"

the girl let out a heavy breath, a humourous undertone behind it, "do you think i could hire people? that'll ruin the whole point."

"right, yeah," joonas trailed off, voice lowering in dynamic. his eyes suddenly widened, a face of realisation, "wait."

the moment of silence was dragged to the depths of hell, taking way too long for its own good.
