"B-but." I said trying to protest.

"Just give it a go? please for me." Maudie said with the most cutest pouty face ever.

Normally, i would think it was weird but now i feel like i have to do it just for her

"Fine." I said as i unwrapped the aluminum foil.

I took a deep breathe and took a bite.

Wow it's actually amazing

Should i be honest and her that i like it?

I could, but she will tease me about her being right all along.

If i tell her it's bad, i have to stop eating it.

And im starving

"So? Love it or Love it?" Maudie said with a smug look on her face.

"Fine, it's not bad." I said.

"Sure Ezra." Maudie said sarcastically

I took another bite and then grab Maudie's hand.

"Let's go. I can eat this while were waking there" I said.

"Yeah let's go." Maudie said opening the door.

We walked out, hand in hand and started walking.

Honestly, us holding hands is very new.

"By the way, where are we going?" I asked before taking a bite of my Sandwich.

"The park." Maudie said

"Oh okay." I said.

We walked to the park, which wasn't very far.

I took quick glances of Maudie.

She was adorable.

I didn't know i was starting long at her until she called my name.

"EZRA we are here." She whisper-shouted next to my ear.

I was startled and almost fell.

Luckily Maudie caught me as our hands were still joined together.

"You really are jumpy aren't you?" Maudie said.

"I-im clumsy that all." I said

"Sure." Maudie said sarcastically.

"What are we doing here anyways?" I asked

"To do whatever." Maudie said.

"Let's sit down then." I said pointing to a park bench.

"Yeah." Maudie responded.

We walked to the nearest park bench and sat down.

"So Ezra, aren't you worried?" Maudie asked.

"About what?" I asked.

"That people will think this is a date." Maudie said.

Date?? where did that come from?

"I-i don't think they will." I said

"Oh really, why?" Maudie asked coming closer.

"Uhm.. Because we hang out like this all the time." I said.

"Yeah, but we're older and people might think differently." Maudie said.

"I don't know. We can just deny it." I said.

"Sure. That's a good thing Because i see Pixie and Ava walking over to our direction." Maudie said.

"Huh." I said looking around.

I saw Pixie and Ava just a few steps away from the bench we were sitting at.

"Oh hey guys" Pixie greeted.

"I see your on a date." Ava smirked.

"NO WERE NOT." I said quite panicked.

"Yup were just spending the day together alone." Maudie said confidently.

"That sounds like a date." Pixie said.

"I-its not." I said as i blushed in embarrassment.

"Look who's blushing." Ava said.

"Its hot out at the park Ava." I said.

"I guess so, we will just leave you on your date then." Ava said.

"Its. not. a. date." I said

"Also i heard about the interview. Good luck thats so great for the inBESTigators. Once you guys get on TV, you'll be like celebrities." Pixie said.

"Thanks." Maudie smiled.

"Anyways we got to go. Ill see the two of you at my house tomorrow at noon. To make sure we got everything ready before we leave for tomorrow tonight." Ava reminded.

We both nodded, Ava and Pixie left.

I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Ava really cant stop teasing about us being together." Maudie said.

"Yeah, its very annoying." I said.

"Imagine if it actually happened." Maudie said.

Dating Maudie...

It would be a dream come true.

We would solve mysteries and read books together.

We already do that but i want to do it knowing that she loves me as much as i love her

My thoughts were interrupted by Maudie.

"EZRAA" Maudie said snapping her fingers.

"Im sorry again. I was zoning out again." I said.

"Hmm is there something wrong you wanna talk about?" Maudie said looking me in the eye.

"I-i do, but im not comfortable sharing it yet." I said.

"Its okay. I understand." Maudie said as she hugged me.

Usually i would be disgusted.

Im not anymore.

I liked it so much that when Maudie pulled back i felt so disappointed.

Then she rested her head on my shoulder.

If i moved she would stop doing this.

"Can i tell you something?" Maudie asked.

"Yeah" I said.

"I dont like my Aunt Rosita at all." Maudie said.

"Huh why not?" I asked.

"I know she was horrible to my mother." Maudie said.

"Huh." I said as my eyes widened.

What exactly happened?

"I knew she treated my mom horribly. They thought i never knew but i know everything." Maudie said.

I didn't know what to say.

"I dont know what to say and im so sorry." I said as i gave her a side hug.

"Thanks im just not looking forward to seeing her." Maudie said.

"If you want we can cancel the trip." I said.

"NO DONT DO THAT. I still want to do this i just dont wanna see her. I can stand her for a week so dont worry." Maudie said.

"Okay then, dont worry i'll be there for you." I said.

"Thanks." Maudie said hugging me.

Okay this is one of the best days of my life.

I hope Maudie will be fine.
