I explained my knotted past. I will not always be easy to hold onto, for my heart is scattered with thorns. Some nights I will be quiet and he won't know how to pull me from my weeded mind. Some nights I'll forget what he sees in me and lose my balance. Some nights I'll trip over my own feet and apologize for the mess I made. On those nights, the one thing that will drag me out of my own labyrinth is that look. No one has ever looked at me quite like that.

Jungkook's POV

A faint scream. That was all I could hear.

But why does it keep getting louder and louder?

It has stopped.

I thought it was all in my dream until even in a dizzy state, the realisation hit me.

Taraa!

I opened my eyes abruptly and saw a figure beside me, shaking, breathing heavily. Taraa had her hand on her chest, clutching her heart, as if to calm it down.

I got up and shifted to sit in front of her. She looked dazed and tears stained her face. It hurt me to look at the usually cheery and confident girl in this state.

Without uttering anything, I hugged her and hid her face in my chest. She didn't respond so I let her be. She snuggled closer and I tightened my hold on her.

I glanced at the window and it was clearly night. Only an hour must have passed since we had slept.

"A nightmare?" I asked and felt her nodding against my chest.

"Can we...can we...talk?" she suddenly asked, so quietly that if it wasn't for my full attention directed towards her, I wouldn't have heard it.

"Yeah, my love, sure. If you are okay with it." I said, looking her in the eyes.

I remembered the last time she had a nightmare and she was unsure about talking it out with me. But now, seeing that I have earned her trust that she herself is willing to tell me, well, it made me content.

She inhaled deeply and rubbing her eyes, went in the bathroom. She came back after washing her face and drank a mouthful of water.

"Sit comfortably. It's a long story." she said, with a weak smile.

Taraa's POV

I had to do it. I needed to tell Jungkook all about my past and the few things that I had hidden from him.

I braced myself for all sorts of reactions from him before speaking up.

"Do you remember when you all came to my home in India and Namjoon oppa asked if we had ever been to South Korea?" I asked.

"Yeah, and you had said that you have never been here before." he replied.

"It was a lie." I stated.
