"The hell..." anas ko nang makita ulit si Renoah sa park kung saan palagi akong tumatambay.
I should think of coming here in a different time.
"Kuya..." ani Teirra. Renoah brought the squad and the twins here! Here in the fucking park!
I eyed Renoah, "Seriously?"
Nag-iwas siya ng tingin. "They all bothered me, okay? Besides, mas magandang mag-usap kayo. Mag-usap tayo ninyong lahat. The twins miss you, Pat. They deserve to see you."
"Fine. Follow my car," I said and sighed. They all stood up and we went to the parking lot near the place. Turns out, they all parked their car just near me and I didn't even notice.
Pagkarating namin sa restaurant ay nauna akong bumaba at naghanap ng mahaba at medyo pribadong puwesto sa lugar. A staff recommended me their long table upstairs so I obliged and went to the said floor.
"So?" ani ko nang makaupo na kami. They were all present just like I said. The ever-so-asshole Lyandrei Santos, is here gawking glares at me so I shot my eyebrow. Klent, Mark, Kiel, and Art are also here. Renoah sat beside my sister and so did Devant. Pinaggigitnaan nila si Teirra.
Teirra held her hands together. "Kuya... It's been months. Kailan ka babalik?" her voice almost broke at the question. I heaved a breath.
Devant sighed, "Mom wants you back. She promised she'll understand and listen to you now, Kuya. Dad... Well, Dad didn't say anything but I'm sure he also wants to settle this already."
I smiled... bitterly. "Things are just meant this way, kids."
"But Kuya..." angal ni Teirra.
Tears began to form in her eyes. "My debut's coming... H-Hindi mo ba dadaluhan ang debut ko?"
Ngumiti ako. "I'll try, Ira. But I can't promise anything, okay? I'll see if I'm available on that day."
"But..."
"But you promised you'll certainly be there..." she said... weakly.
I can't bear seeing her like this. Kapatid ko siya. Kadugo, silang dalawa ni Devant. It pains me to see my siblings also having a hard time because of my absence.
But I believe things are just meant this way. Things will always result to this.
People running away.
"That was before, Ira. Alam mong may nagbago na. I need time for myself. I hope you can understand that. Just remember, Kuya is just here... Somewhere around here," sagot ko.
She teared up. "B-Balik ka na kasi..."
"I can't... Not yet," I smiled.
Devant held her back.
I glanced at the six. "So? What are you guys doing here?"
"Kumusta ka na, dre? I heard you work from a bar now," sambit ni Mark.
"Well, yeah. I need to earn and save money before I can even use all my savings. You know, things are completely different now," sagot ko. Tumango naman siya.
"Glad to see you striving right now. Have you been well these past few months? Saang bar ka pala nagtatrabaho. Baka sakaling bisitahin ka ni Klent," he joked out.
I simply laughed. Klent objected.
"Ano 'yon? Indirect accusation na mahilig akong mag-bar?" angal niya.
Kiel shot his brow, "Oh, bakit? Hindi ba?" hindi naman nakasagot si Klent kaya ngumisi nalang siya at binaling ang tingin sa 'kin. "Musta, dre? Ayokong maging plastik kaya tatanungin kita. Ikaw ba yung palaging nasa puntod ni Cassi dati?"
