Chapter 9: Sports Festival I

I reel one leg back, every fiber of my muscle, every vessel of blood, putting all my strength into my leg. 

"Breath of Thunder!"

In a second, I dash forwards with lighting ripping through the air, taking the lead.

"God Speed!"
(Shinsoku)

"Tomioka once again took the lead again!!"

I heard a huge explosion at the back, Izuku blasted himself in the air.

"There's a huge explosion at the back?! Was it an accident, or did he do it on purpose? Class A's Midoriya is in hot pursuit with that blast!"

"Seriously?" I say as I passed the land mine.

Bakugou and Todoroki stop fighting one another and immediately run to catch up to Izuku and almost overtake him.

However, as Izuku begins to lose momentum, he uses the metal sheet and slams it on the ground, setting off several mines and blowing dust into Katsuki and Shoto, forcing them to stop.

"Midoriya swiftly blocks those behind him and was able to catch up with Tomioka!"

Izuku and I race ahead to the finish line, but Izuku is gaining speed from the blast.

"Eraser Head, your class is amazing! What're you teaching them?!"

"I didn't do anything. They got each other fired up on their own."

"Hear that everyone? Eraser Head is a bad teacher!"

"I'm what?!"

I saw Izuku crosses the finish line and earned the first place while I'm on second. The audience roared out. Todoroki crosses as well, placing third and Bakugou placing fourth.

I walk over to Izuku and gave him a thumbs up with soft facial expression, Izuku wipes some tears before he smiles at me. Soon, the other students cross the finish line.

"Deku! Tomioka! You two were amazing!" Izuku and I turn to the familiar brown haired running towards us. Iida at the back felt gloomy.

"I can't believe I fell behind with this Quirk..."

"First place is amazing! Second place too!"

"I-it was just..." Izuku blushed shield his face with his arms. It's obvious he liked her. I saw Yaoyorozu has arrived, exhausted.

"This isn't how it was supposed to..." Yaoyorozu tiredly says, I walked over to her.

"Are you alright, Yao-"

"Wohoo! I killed two birds with one stone! I'm a genius!" I heard Mineta blurted out behind Yaoyoruzo.

"You're the worst!"

"Let go of her already." I say in monotonous as I grabbed Mineta off and dropped him to the ground.

"Thank you Tomioka-san." Yaoyorozu sighed facing towards me while I look away.

"Yaoyoruzo-san. Please zip your uniform." I say, still looking away.

"Huh? Oh right, sorry." Yaoyorozu zip her uniform up before we went to the others while having a small chat.

"The first game of the first-year stage is finally over. Now, take a look at the results!" Midnight announces as the screen appeared again revealing the 42 students at the top have earned the right to advance while the other students fail to advance.

"The real competition begins next! The press cavalry'll be all over it! Give it your all!" Midnight says, I hold on to my blade.

"Now, here it is... Cavalry Battle!
