Some fluff (a little bit angsty) to make up for yesterday.

Josh exhaled slowly, lips tight. His hands were sweating, his neck was itchy.

He stared at the nervous figure in the mirror, eyes darting up and down, criticising every minor fault he found.

"Come on, Josh. It's Harry, he won't care what you look like." He told himself, wiping his sweaty hands on his jeans. Luckily, he'd picked out one of his darkest pairs.

But even then, Josh couldn't help but twitch, ready to turn around and head for his wardrobe.

"No, that's it. This is fine. You look fine. Harry will love it."

Will he though?

With another exhale, this one much quicker, Josh turned and left his room, heading for the living room.

As soon as he sat down on the sofa, he had his phone in hand, checking the time as he waited for WhatsApp to load.

Okay, he thought, it's still only 6 PM. Harry said he'd be over at seven.

So why the fuck are you ready now?

Josh caught himself just before his fingers could touch the screen, about to type out yet another anxious message to his boyfriend.

"Don't Josh. Just wait. You can wait." He nodded minutely to himself as he spoke.

It's better for everyone that way. He added inside his head.

~~~
"Shit, shit, shit." Harry muttered, tugging on the nearest hoodie he could find (some light pink one he found on his floor), rushing around his room in search of his phone as he did so. When he couldn't find it, he groaned before running out of his room.
"Cal, have you seen my-" Harry didn't get to finish as Cal pushed his phone into his hands then began pushing him towards the door.
"Come on, shoes on. I told you not to go back to bed and look what you've done now."
"I know, I know."
Harry pulled his trainers on quickly - luckily on the right feet this time - and waved to Cal before scurrying out the door.
~~~

Josh sighed, laying on his back on the sofa, his hands resting on his stomach.

The last time he checked the time, it had been 19:23 and he hadn't received a single text from Harry since half five.

Smiling sadly, Josh picked up his phone from on his chest and clicked it on in order to check the time.

It was now almost 8 o'clock, apparently. Josh perked up a little, subconsciously, when he noticed that he had a text from Harry.

Harry
im so srory jsh
im omw noe
nvr text n ridw jsh

It was a good thing Josh was so in tune with his boyfriend, otherwise he may have struggled to understand what the other meant.

Wait, text and ride?

"Fuck, he's on his bike." Josh groaned.

Zerkaamine
Please be safe Harry

Josh breathed a sigh of relief when those two little ticks stayed grey.

~~~
Harry arrived just after eight, having cycled all the way from his and Cal's flat to Josh's.
"I'm so sorry Josh! I fell asleep and didn't wake up until Cal woke me - I still need to thank Cal, by the way."
Josh only smiled before pulling the shorter boy into a tight hug, perhaps too tight, but Harry didn't complain. He just hugged back as tightly.
When they pulled away, Harry pressed a hard kiss to Josh's lips before grabbing his hand.
Harry knew what Josh was like, and he couldn't help but give the older boy a once over.
Face pink, he said, "You look really nice."
Josh's own face flushed a matching shade of pink at the compliment.
Holding hands, the two of them entered Josh's flat together, heading straight for the spot on the sofa Josh had occupied for well over an hour, simply waiting for Harry to get there.
Once they were sat down, a thought hit Harry and he began to chew at his lip nervously.
"I forgot your gift."
Josh smiled assuringly, face gentle. He felt a lot more relaxed now than he had earlier.
"It's fine." He then grinned mischievously. "It just means you don't get yours yet."
That made Harry pout, and he let out a long, exaggerated, "Awww."
"Aw indeed." Josh laughed, muted and shy.
His laugh brought out a large, genuine grin from Harry.
"I like your laugh." He whispered, thumb rubbing at Josh's hand, the one intertwined with his own.
"It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy." He added, voice quieting further as he grew more timid.
Josh, feeling just as timid, leaned forward for a kiss in response.
The kiss was short and simple, chaste, and it left the both of them feeling tender and loving.
