20 year old Rafael was sleeping in his bedroom at his parents' house when he was woken up by loud knocking on the front door.
Adriana was knocking on the door looking very distraught and in tears.
"Rafael!" shouted Adriana distraught as she knocked on the door.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
Rafael opened the front door and saw that Adriana was in tears.
"Hey, what's wrong? What's going on?" asked Rafael concerned.
"It's my parents, they're really sick in the hospital."
"What? What happened?"
"The doctor told me that they're gonna die. I don't know what to do. Can you come see them with me?" said Adriana crying.
"Of course."
Rafael and Adriana went toward the hospital to see Adriana's parents.
Adriana and Rafael walked into the hospital room and saw Adriana's Parents laying in beds looking very sickly with their eyes closed.
The Doctor looked at Adriana remorsefully and said—
—"I'm sorry. They've passed on."
Adriana went over to her parents and saw that they were dead.
Then she broke down crying on her knees by her parents' bedside putting her head down.
Rafael went over to Adriana and comforted her.
Adriana cried on his shoulder.
A FEW DAYS LATER, Adriana and Rafael buried Adriana's parents at sea in wooden coffins.
Adriana and Rafael walked back toward Adriana's house.
They got to the front door of the house and Rafael said—
—"You can stay with us if you want."
"No, no thanks. I'll be ok."
"Ok, if you need anything, just come see me."
Rafael gave her a big hug.
"Thank you for everything." said Adriana.
"Are you kidding? Thank YOU. You changed my life, I'll always be in your debt."
Adriana walked inside and closed the door saying—
—"Bye."
"Bye." said Rafael and started walking home.
A FEW WEEKS LATER, Rafael worked at a construction site hammering a nail into a piece of wood with Julieta and her parents.
Then Rafael saw his Dad walking over to him.
Rafael's Dad walked up to him and said—
—"Hey, your friend Adriana just came to the house. She was crying and looked really scared."
