"That's a start," I said.

"Okay. What else then? If you don't start at least singing again, this tour isn't going to happen. You realize that, right?" Jack said. A mixture of worry and absolute terror shown in his eyes at the thought. "We can't do a tour with you in this condition. Especially if you're not going to do anything to participate in your own band. There's only three months until this tour kicks off!"

"One, I do not have a 'condition.' Secondly, why can't the show go on without me? That's two out of three of the band performing." I said.

Jack sighed as if he had tried everything to convince me. Which he probably had in all honesty. Everyone had. Then his expression lit up, having an idea. "I know! How about you and your sisters get away for the week? A mini vacation. To help rejuvenate. Hell, take two weeks if that's going to help."

Dallas clapped in excitement. "Oh my god! What an awesome idea! Let's do it!"

I shook my head. "Count me out."

Dallas shot me a look that said yeah, right. "Really? You don't want to take the vacation that we haven't had in four years."

"No. And you're ignorant if you think otherwise."

"So, where are we going?" Selena asked, walking out of the recording booth as she tucked a piece of nearly-charcoal stray hair behind her ear. Her dark cocoa eyes sparkled with excitement.

Ugh, I envied my sisters' naturally darker, gorgeous, glowing skin tone and sharp features. Typically I'm stuck with a porcelain complexion, but I just lathered on a vegan bronzing foam to give me a sun-kissed glow appearance for a week or two.

Dallas wrapped her pointer finger and thumb on her chin in thought. The only reason I hadn't popped my earbud back in and continued watching the game was because I had to know if this train-wreck was actually going to happen. Of course, I was planning to spend two weeks off from the comforts of my bedroom. Or maybe escape to an island and never come back?

"Why not go back to where The Scarlett Violets began as an awesome group?" Selena said with an ecstatic smile.

"Texas?" I questioned. I didn't mind Texas. I loved Texas. I had so many great memories there. Wait a minute, I'm not going. What am I doing?

"Are you kidding me? Texas? No. Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We haven't exactly been back since we moved to Texas about, what, eleven years ago now?" Selena said.

Dallas smiled heartily. "Ladies, I think we have ourselves a plan!"

They squealed as I rolled my eyes and shook my head. Maybe now I should pop in the earbud.

"Now, we have to figure out where we're going to stay and what we're going to do," Selena suggested.

"Right. Well," Dallas thought for a hot second, "why don't we just buy a vacation house? I don't exactly plan on being away from Alabama another eleven years."

"I agree! But an actual house is too big, I think. Why not something smaller, like a large apartment or, oooh, a condo! I just remembered they sell condos on the University of Alabama campus. You know how cool that would be? You know, if we hadn't become a band, that's where we would have gone to college," Selena said.

"Okay, well, y'all have fun," I said as an announcement. I wasn't going to Alabama. If I had more reasons than I could count on one hand for something, I was always out.

"Sí, lo estás," Dallas said, "este viaje no sucederá sin que vengas, así que te vas."

I narrowed my eyes. "No, I'm not. I'd rather go to Texas of all places."
