Katatapos lang namin maghapunan and guess what? Anim lang kaming babae sa Academy na 'to. Alam kong napakaimposible na umabot ng bente ang babaeng nakakapasok dito dahil sa mahirap daw talaga ang entrance exam ng academy, but I never expected na anim lang kami. At dahil nga anim lang kaming babae, amin ang buong second floor ng dorm habang ang mga lalaki naman ay nasa third floor, sa first floor naman naka-locate ang canteen.
Sa bawat room ay may tig dadawang students; kasama ko sa room si Danica Estrella. Napakatahimik at napaka-unapproachable niya. "Uh, saan ang bed ko rito?" tanong ko sa kaniya.
Tinuro niya ang bed na malinis at walang kahit anong nakalagay. "Thanks." Agad kong nilabas ang mga gamit ko at inayos ito sa naka-built-in na cabinet. Matapos mag-ayos ay naligo na ako at saktong nagbibihis palang ako ay biglang nagpa-assemble si Commandant.
"Soldiers, assemble in 60 seconds!" sigaw nito sa labas ng dorm building. Tang*na, hindi kasya ang isang minuto sa pagbibihis ko tapos bababa pa ng hagdan. Kahit na wala pa akong suot na bra ay agad kong sinuot ang oversized t-shirt ko. Sa sobrang bilis magbilang ni Commandant, halos nagkatulakan pa kami sa hagdan. "Fvck, dahan-dahan dude!" rinig kong sigaw ni Cunningham. Kahit kailan talaga, 'tong lalakeng 'to, ang laki ng boses.
"5... 4... 3... 2...1..."

"ATTENTION!" Napatahimik ang lahat dahil sa malakas na sigaw ni Commandant. Ang ingay kasi ng mga lalaki, kala mo nasa loob ng palengke. "I called for an assemble to give all of you a briefing about the rules and regulations of this Academy."
Isa-isa kaming tiningnan ni Commandant at agad napahinto ang tingin niya sa kung saan ako nakatayo. "What are you wearing, Soldier Menken?" tanong nito at nag-iwas ng tingin. Tiningnan ko naman ang suot kong oversized t-shirt, napatingin din ang lahat sa suot ko. "Ahh, hehehe... Commandant—"
"Is that how you speak in the Military?" putol nito sa 'kin.
"No, Sir!"
"Let me ask you again. What are you wearing?"
"An oversized t-shirt, Sir!" Mahinang natawa ang ibang estudyante sa sagot ko. Anong mali sa sinabi ko?
"Bakit 'yan lang ang suot mo?" tanong ulit nito. Hindi ko alam kung bet ba ako ni Commandant sa dami ng tanong niya.
"You called for an assemble when I'm at the shower, Sir!" sagot ko rito.
"As a soldier, you need to move faster! There's no discrimination against gender in this Academy but all soldiers must move faster. I'm not saying that all women are slow and all men are fast. That's why in this Academy, you need to train yourself! You need to discipline yourself. Understand?"
"Yes, Sir!" sagot namin lahat.
"Now let's move on to the purpose of this assemble. The rules and regulations of the Academy." Matapos sabihin iyon ni Commandant ay nagpalakad-lakad ito paikot sa 'min habang ang isang kasama naman ni Commandant na nakauniporme rin ang pumalit sa harap.

Fourth, inside the school premises, no one is allowed to drink alcoholic beverages, no gambling. If we catch someone smoking marijuana or doing drugs, you'll be expelled!" Agad sumakit ang puso ko sa sinabi ni Sergeant Grey. Good bye to my drinking habits.
"Fifth, except for Vacations and holidays, no one is allowed to go out of the school premises. If you have something urgent outside, you can file for a leave. And lastly, no one is allowed to use their gadgets! All of your phones and gadgets will be confiscated tomorrow morning. So if you want to send messages to your parents or your girlfriends and boyfriends, do it tonight. If one of you break the rules, you will be punished severely. In West Land Military Academy, everyone must be disciplined, passionate, dedicated, and serious!" Matapos sabihin ni Sergeant lahat ng Do's And Don'ts, pumalit sa kaniya si Commandant Vessero.
"Are the rules and regulations clear to all of you?"
"Sir. Yes, Sir!"
"You're all dismissed." Napahinga kaming lahat nang maluwag at naglakad na pabalik sa kanya-kanyang room namin.
Habang paakyat sa hagdan, narinig kong sumipol ang ibang lalaki. Kahit saan talaga, may manyak. Hindi ko na lang sila pinansin at nagpatuloy sa pag-akyat ngunit sa hindi inaasahang pangyayari ay inabot sa 'kin ni Gavin ang suot niyang sweatshirt kanina. "Huh?"
