"Ma?" Tita Karen turned on our side when Karus called for her. She smiled at her son but got a confused look when her gaze went on me.

Karus hugged her Mom when we reached her while I kissed her on her cheek.

"Naiah?"

"Hi Tita," I cheerfully greeted her kahit na kinakabahan talaga ako. Bakit naman kasi ngayon na agad?! I'm not even prepared for this.

"What's with a visit?" tanong ni Karus habang binubuksan ang pinto ng condo.

"I just want to bring you these cookies that I baked," sagot ni Tita pero sa akin pa rin nakatingin. "You two hangout together?"

"Uh," I awkwardly smiled.

"Let's go inside Ma," ani Karus habang pinapaunang pumasok si Tita. She glance at our intertwined hands pa before going inside at bahagyang nangingiti.

Binaba ni Karus iyong mga pinamili namin bago kami naupong tatlo sa couch sa sala. Magkatabi kami ni Karus habang nasa mas maliit na adjacent couch si Tita.

"It's good to see you here, Naiah." Ani nito pagkalapag ng box ng cookies na dala niya sa coffee table

"It's good to see you too, Tita. You're into baking po pala," sagot ko nang maalala iyong cake na pinatikim sa akin ni Karus.

"Oh yes. It's been my hobby since then. Do you want to taste some?"

"Of course Tita! For sure masarap 'yan,"

"Naku! Nambobola na agad hindi pa natitikman,"

I chuckled.

"It's true. I tasted the cake that you baked and that was superb,"

"You mean the red velvet cake?"

"Yes Tita," I said confusingly because she was a bit shocked when I said that. Bakit naman?

Napatingin siya kay Karus na nagkibit-balikat lang. Okay? What's happening here? Napalitan ang expression niya ngayon na parang nagpipigil ng tili. She looks kinikilig.

I gave Karus a questioning look but he just gave me a smirk in return. Do I have to know something here?

"I only baked red velvet cakes for Khein and Karus." My jaw dropped but Tita Karen just giggled in excitement.

In my head, napasapo ako sa noo ko. Oh my gosh! Hindi ko alam! And now I we were caught by my own words!

"Umamin na kayo. I'm waiting here," she said with all smiles.

Nagkatinginan kami ni Karus. I was urging him to talk through my eyes. Tumawa lang siya.

"Ma, she's my girlfriend."

"I know!" napatayo si Tita para hilahin ako patayo at yakapin. "Welcome to the family Naiah!"

"Tita?" natatawang sabi ko dahil sa reaksyon niya.

"Why? I'm just so happy!" aniya sabay yakap ulit. "Kung hindi ko pa binisita si Karus ay hindi ko malalaman,"

"Naunahan mo lang kami Ma," sagot ni Karus.

"Really?"

"Yes Tita. We're planning to go to your place naman po," I replied.

"Fine, fine. Forgiven. But you still have to go to our house so that Arolf and Khein could join us,"

"Of course Tita," I bubbly smiled at her.

"Oh by the way I have to go na," Nagbeso kami ni Tita at sabay namin siyang inihatid ni Karus hanggang sa elevator. "Visit us sa bahay okay?" tumango kami sa huling bilin nito.
