Emerys POV

I open my locker and throw my apron in it. I sit down on the bench waiting for  Zara but she gets off in 15 minutes. I should call Rain in the meantime to see if she is ok. I grabbed my phone from the bag and clicked on her contact.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," she said.

"Are you feeling ok?" I asked.

"I swear if one more person asks me that I'm going to choke them," Rain said with a little giggle at the end.

"But are you ok?" I asked.

"Yes I'm ok I'm going to go to sleep cause I'm tired," she said yawning.

"Ok, I love you," I said.

"Love you too," she said.

I hung up the phone and put it back in my bag. I head the doors open and I see Zara walking in.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," she said.

She opened her locker and put her apron in there and grabbed her stuff and turned to me.

"So I talked to my cousin and was able to get you a job," she said.

"What kind of job is it and how much does it pay?" I asked.

"How about I give you a ride to the hospital and we talk about it on the way there," she said.

"Ok," I said.

I grabbed my stuff and we walked to her car. Once we got in the car she pulled out and drove to the hospital.

"So what's the job?" I asked.

"Well he throws parties," she said.

How does her cousin make money for throwing parties? Her cousin is probably a party planner.

"He's not a party planner if you were thinking about that," she said.

Damn, can she read mine or something?

"Them how does your cousin make money throwing parties," I asked

"Well it's an underground party," she said.

That still doesn't make sense.

"The parties aren't like regular high school party's that's why," she said.

"Ohh ok," I said

I wonder what the parties are like.

"How about I bring you to the party tomorrow since it's Friday and you and my cousin can talk about the whole thing?" she asked.

"But I can't my sister," I said.

I can't just leave my sister at the hospital alone and go to some party.

"Well if you change your mind just call me," she said.

She stopped the car and I realized we were in front of the hospital. I grabbed my stuff and opened the door.

"Thank you," I said.

"You're welcome," she said.

I got out of the car and shut the door walking into the hospital. I walked into my sister's room and she was laying there reading a book.

"Hey," I said.

I set all my bags on the table and sat in the chair next to her bed.

"How do you feel?" I asked.

"I feel ok," she said with a smile on her face.

"That's good," I said.

"I did chemotherapy today," she said.

Omg, I forgot she was going to do it today I should have called off work.

"I'm sorry you had to do it by yourself, I should have called off work," I said.

"It's ok, you can't always be by my side all the time plus the nurse was with me and we talked the whole time," she said.

It's good someone was with her and she wasn't by herself.

"So how was work?" she asked.

"Busy as usual," I said.

There are days at work when it's busy or not.

"Do you have any plans this weekend?" she asked.

Should I tell her about the job Zara got me or just tell her half of it.

"Zara invited me to a party but told her I can't go," I said.

"Why?" she asked.

"Rain you're in the hospital and I don't wanna leave you," I said.

"You know you, my sister and I love you right?" she said.

"Yeah and," I asked.

"Well I have friends unlike you, and they're coming tomorrow. Since we can't have a sleepover at someone's house, they are coming here to spend the night with me," she said.

I don't get her sometimes.

"And why can't I be here?" I asked.

"As I said, I have friends unlike you," she said

Wow, I love you too.

"I have friends, "I said.

The only friend I have is Zara.

"You only have Zara. Plus you are off tomorrow, so you can spend the whole day with me and you can go home and get ready for the party, ''she said.

"Damn you don't want me here," I said.

"Just a little," she said.

We both laughed but stopped when the doctor walked in. I look at his name tag and it says, Dr. Gomez.

"Hi Rain, how are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm doing good," she said.

"That's good to hear, Emery, can I talk to you outside?" he said.

I wanna know what he wants to talk about.

"Sure," I said.

We both walked out of the room and he closed the door.

"We told you the other day how the chemotherapy was going to be expensive," he said. "Today was her first chemotherapy and she will be doing it once a week".

"How much is it going to be?" I asked.

"Well it's going to be 1,000," he said.

Wait for what.

"For each session," I asked.

"No, every month, unfortunately," he said,

How am I going to make that much money?

"Ohh ok," I said.

"You have till may 13 to pay for the first month," he said.

"Ok, thanks for telling me," I said.

"You're welcome," he said.

He walked away and I went back to the room.

"Ok see you tomorrow," Rain said

I saw she was talking to someone on the phone. It was probably one of her friends.

"So how about I order Chinese and we watch a movie on the tv," I asked.

"Omg yes I have been craving Chinese," she said.
