"Good morning son" his father smiled brightly, looking up from the classic old newspaper in his hands as he placed down the cup of instant coffee.

At the mention of their son arriving down stairs, his mother hurried on his way over, kissing him on his cheek as she caressed his head gently. Jeongin chuckled with a soft smile, knowing damn well he got not so much sleep last night..it felt too wrong to sleep, but he did eventually fall asleep late..and he woke up with quite some dark circles due to exactly that.

"I made breakfast, sit down and eat..you have work in 2 hours? Spend some time with us yeah?" She spoke, always so chatty and energetic in the morning, where his father was rather silent and not as much in a good mood. "Oh and uhm Jeongin.." she peeked out her head from the kitchen catching the boy's attention.

"Yes mom?" He asked, standing up incase his mother asked for something.

"You know..next time you arrive home, please lock the door after you closed it..we can't have intruders sneaking around in our house" she smiled, about to go back to cooking when she saw Jeongin's prominent frown. "What is it?" She asked a bit confused as to the sudden mood drop in the usual good mooded boy.

"Uhm, I did lock the door twice actually..1 when I arrived home, when you left the door open for me, and the second time after I showered and saw the door was unlocked again, so I locked. I meant that dad just went down to drink some water and mistook the door for being unlocked, therefor I locked it..again" he explained making a frown appear on his father's face.

"We only let the door stay unlocked for you..but, I woke up hearing a shower, and believed you were home. I just went down for my usual cup of water, and the door was unlocked. So something is not right about your statement son" he spoke, not taking his eyes off of the newspapers as his mother served the nicely cooked breakfast and sat down, looking up at her son with a frown.

"I'm not lying though..I locked the door before I took a shower, and after that I saw the door was unlocked again and locked it? I'm sure I did..I always remind myself to do that" he spoke confused sitting down beside his mother who shook her head.

"Well whatever happened you two must've have messed up something with the lock, since it was unlocked this morning, that's all I have to say..now let's not let this bother us too much alright?" She spoke with a smile and served Jeongin some food, letting the boy sigh and nod in acceptance.

He was still pretty sure he locked that door. Atleast twice that night, and he meant his father might have been confused about it. But needless to say, he switched the topic to something more important, talking about receiving once again, the employee of the month at his job, which his parents for the twelve time, congratulated him on. Not that it was a huge deal anyways, but it also meant he got promoted into a higher pay, reaching the pay an average adult worker would get working at the cafè at the age of 16. Sure he was quite proud of himself to say atleast, but already being at the final month this year, kind of shocked him a bit..his been working there already a year now..which felt..kind of amazing yet odd at the same time.

He for sure never thought making coffee would have been his big future dreams hopefully coming true. But he certainly found the right career path and did well in doing so, so he adapted to it easily.

But yeah, from sitting by the table in the small little dining room. To arriving by feet to the cafè at 10 AM, fully prepared to clock in, having to simply just put down his bag, jacket and scarf, then he would be good to go to start working.

And again, before he knew it, he stood by the counter taking order with a huge smile and a good mood, making drink and serving pastries for the customers. All something that was apart of a basic and an everyday routine by now, knowing his been using work to simply just save up money to potentially open up his own cafè someday in the future.
