"Times up!" The guard warned me, knocking loudly and forcefully on the door. Sweat started beading down my forehead and I kicked off my heels near the window.
The banging on the door started getting more forceful and loud as they tried to break open the door. I hobbled over to the door as silently as I could and stood beside it, barefoot and shaking. In the position I am right now, I wasn't the first thing they would see when they broke in, the door would cover me.
This was about to be some Home Alone shit
I took a deep breath in as the door burst open, almost slapping me in the face as one of the guards trampled in. I prayed silently that notice the clues I left.
"Fuck she escaped through the window!" Lefty cursed. Just as I expected, he broke a run for the window in hopes to catch me thinking I had taken the window out. That was the entire plan, I was hoping he would think I escaped through the window and try to follow me there.
I would've actually done that, but unfortunately, I don't have the balance for such a task!
To his surprise and my intention, he skidded right on the soapy water, toppling over as he slammed himself on the tiles, back first. I was more astonished it even worked. Time to execute phase two!
He groaned on the ground, trying to turn over as I grabbed the door, using it to swing myself around without slipping. "Hey!" He yelled, taking not of my figure hastily running out as he reached for his gun.
Damn, how is this guy still even moving? A fall like that and I'd be in a coma for a year.
I squealed, slamming the door shut, leaving him stranded on the bathroom floor and entirely missing his shot as the bullet blasted in another direction.
Holy duck, when I get my hands on Xavier, I'm going to smack him for making me do this! I breathed heavily, pressing myself on the door trying to catch my breath. Okay this is way too much of a workout for me right now
I need a break. Can we take 5?
"You!" Righty, who was still on guard at the door, pointed his gun at me. Oh for duck's sake! I screamed, running for the sofa I was sitting on earlier as he fired, missing me by a hair as I dove behind the sofa. "Come out girl or else I will shoot,"
Oh my god, what now!? I forgot there were two of them! I had to think fast because Righty was right behind me and Lefty was possibly still recovering in the bathroom, so it won't be long before he corners me too. I frantically thought of more ideas as I gazed around. I almost jumped in glee as the idea almost was blessed to me. I could see him, in the glass that Argent had drunk from a while ago before he left.
It was still on the table and gave a perfect view of Righty cautiously approaching me from behind, gun loaded. He was so close, a couple more steps and he'd be right over me.
"Xavier, if I live, I will kill you," I murmured in vain as I watched him approach. This was it. This was do or die.
"Come out girl-" He began, with an evil grin on his face as he took a step closer. I prayed to all the ducks in heaven and used all the might I had to kick the small sofa chair back. It slammed against Righty's lower body and he recoiled at the impact.
In the pain it must've caused his noodle, he dropped his rifle. In the same instance as Lefty kicked open the door and my eyes widened, seeing his wet, soap covered body aiming his gun at me. I screamed and launched myself towards the main door. He fired, completely missing me since he was still recovering from a minor concussion and I high-tailed it to the door.
Fortunately for me, I grabbed the rifle on the ground mid-run. Not that I knew had to use this thing, or even aim for that matter, but it would come in handy as a means to hold the door.
Lefty fired again, the bullet smashing one of the vases near the door as I made it to the open door. Realizing I was escaping, lefty loaded his gun and started running towards me. Trying not to panic and lose functionality of my body, I used all the might I had to push the door close.
As if the gods I had been praying to were watching over me I managed to slam the door shut right on his face as he planted right into it. Damn, that definitely must not be good for his brain. Without wasting a moment, before he could yank the door open, I wedged the rifle through the door handle.
"With all due respect gentlemen, I think you missed me," I blurted out as he continued to slam onto the door in a rage. Seeing the door wasn't going to budge, I took a step back staring at the success I had finally gotten.
Oh my god.
I did it.
I got out!
Go Skyler! It's ya first successful escape! Go Skyler-
Before I could continue my happy dance, it quickly dawned on me what I was supposed to be doing.
Xavier, that slimy worm!
I was supposed to be warning him! Ughhh I had to stop my first 'I-ran-away-from-a-hostage-situation' happy dance for him. I huffed in annoyance before turning around and breaking into a run as fast as I could on barefoot trying to find where in the hell Xavier Dante was.
🐥 ---------------------🐥
Awh! So our favorite duckie actually learned a thing or two from Xavier and the gang! Very sloppily executed but never the less a good plan for the three brain cells she has lol. I'm surprised she even survived that *clears throat to cover visible surprise*
Also, I thought I should mention, I'm not really interested in putting this book on other paid platforms, at least not until I'm done with it. The only reason I'm even writing is to find an escape lol and to give my readers a long-awaited ending. Thank you kindly for your offers but I'm afraid I have to turn them down for now :(
maybe one day I may have the courage to give it hehe :)
