Chapter 25: ➢ Frequent Kidnapping Card

My immediate high tailback to the town was cut off as another figure stepped in front of me. The reeking smell of cigarette smoke burned my nose as I sneezed. The figure didn't say a word as I dreaded my entire existence gazed up at their face.

"Ah-ha, hi," I waved awkwardly at the stoic buff figure cocking their head to look down at me. The thing about Xavier's team as gang members, they were skilled. They knew how to fight and they knew how to wield guns effectively.

These guys were tall, excessively built, and heavily tattooed, they looked like Russian Mafia bodyguards and they reeked of smoke. They looked similar to the guys Xavier and I ran into at the mall a couple of weeks ago.

Anyways, I wonder if they preferred me slow-cooked or roasted?

"Skyler Brooklynn?" The guy in front of me spoke as the other two approached from behind.

"Oh for the love of marshmallows," I whined, why was it always me?! I didn't even want to play games anymore, if I was going to die, they'd better make it fast, "Make it quick," I grumbled, putting down my grocery bags and stepping aside so they could shoot me easier. In case I did die my dead body wouldn't land on the food I had just bought, that would be a waste of 35 dollars.

Goodbye cruel world.

"There's someone who wants to meet you, Miss Brooklynn," One of the guys behind me spoke as the two remaining dudes looked at each other in pure confusion at what I thought they'd do.

"Let me guess, it's your gang leader, who wants me dead?" I questioned emotionlessly giving them a sigh. All three men looked at each other quizzically as if they expected me to run away or go kicking and screaming. "Alright, where's the van? Do you want my hands tied or can I just sit in the back?" I continued giving them a couple of options on how they'd like to proceed.

They looked even more dumbfounded and maybe a little concerned about my mental health. I mean I was too actually. "Uh, you can just sit Miss Brooklynn," One of them choked out in uncertainty, showing me the black car parked beside my house

"Okay cool, can someone please stamp my Frequent Kidnapping Card please?" I asked following the first guy and the other two-tailed me unsurely, "Two more kidnappings and I get a free large frozen drink,"

"This way Miss Brooklynn," One of the buff guys instructed as he opened the side of the car door. By the way, none of them spoke throughout the ride but kept glancing furtively at each other, I knew they were more scared of me than I was of them.

Damn, that's ducking character development.

Slowly but cautiously I stepped out of the black car, stepping into the gravel road of what seemed like any old rusty door in every creepy alleyway. I looked at my new set of kidnappers in question. I wasn't worried. Whatever they could do now would be far better than what Xavier said to me.

The three guys escorting me didn't say a word as they opened the creeping-looking door in the alleyway and gestured for me to go in. They were awfully nicer than Xavier's kidnapping service, damn I should get kidnapped by these guys more often.

I walked in cautiously as they tailed behind me. The dark corridor went underground and I walked down a few wet steps before being met with another corridor, except this one was more nicely decorated, with a black flooring and red walls and equipped with a couple of doors on either side all leading into rooms filled with people and flashing lights. Was this a club?

Music blasted through the speakers as the smell of alcohol and sweat hung in the air. I cringed to myself upon seeing the half-naked dancers entertaining in the rooms, please let this not be a job offer or something, my feathers don't look nice with less clothing.
