Day One

LISA

Got off from the bus for my first day at JK Pub.
Walking like a wind as I have to be on time for my new job as the Design Unit Head of this publishing company owned by one of my favorite authors, Jennie Kim.

I admit, I have a huge crush on her. I have read all her books and I really got hooked.
I resigned as a content writer from a national magazine for four years. I need a good paying job where I can also bring my passion in.

Luckily, JK Pub opened a slot and I applied. I got hired!

I reached the company and I stood outside for a while and just stared on this 15-storey building. My office will be at the 11th floor.

I took a deep breath and told myself that I can do this. I'm nervous, sweating and as usual for first timers at work, I really do not know what to expect.

Suddenly, I got distracted when a woman came out from her car and gave her key to the guard. She walked like a model and damn. She's hot, man! Who is she?

I went inside and she is still waiting for the elevator.

I was behind her but I didn't get the chance to see her face. She entered the elevator first and I followed. I just looked down and pressed the 11th.
She pressed the 14th button.

She made a call. Probably it's her assistant.

"Call everyone from the design team to be at the conference room in ten minutes."
She ordered. Hmmm. I took a glimpse of her from the mirror at the side, and yes, I am with the Jennie Kim inside this trap box. Oh, shit! I am her fan but never did I attempt to go to her book signing events. Hmmm. She never had one, Lisa. She doesn't like facing a lot of people. She's this kind of author who values her privacy big time.

Feisty! She sounds so strict and bossy.
But wait, that's my unit she's talking about!

Fuck! I need to hurry.

I hurriedly walked out when the elevator opened and ran looking for the signage where my office is located.

Finally, found it.

I entered and there's Rosé. She's the one who interviewed me.

"Good morning." I greeted her.

"Oh. You're here. Guys, this is your new boss here in your unit. Lisa Manoban. She is the new Design Team Head." She introduced me and everyone smiled at me.
I smiled back but I am a bit nervous. I am a serious and shy type and I just keep quiet if I am not asked or something.

"Boss, can you check my design now? Lea called that the boss ordered us to be in the conference room to present for O in ten minutes. By the way, I am V." He said and introduced himself.

I nodded. Rose led me to my office first. It's just inside our unit's hall. I opened the door and it's nice. I placed my bag and went out again and approached V's desk.

"Let me see. What's the story about?" I asked.

"Til death do us part. Romeo and Juliet-ish. Written by JK herself." V explained.

"Ok. Your layout, please." I requested.

It's too minimalistic in white. But V is very promising.

"It's nice. But we don't have time anymore to revise everything. Now, make the "O" font color silver. Then splash a shade of red. Put matte black blood on the sides and make a dispersion of black dying roses as dusts. Of course, we don't have time anymore to apply everything. Just note our revision and do it later. Save whatever you can save."
I said and V nodded.
