I padded down the stairs to enter the dining room, everyone already seated.

I pulled out a chair, Yao placing a plate of food in front of me.

Reader: Thank you.

Arthur: Still, a vampire hunter? This isn't settling well with me.

!

Did Yao tell them?

I made a pointed glance his way yet he continued to sit there, eating nonchalantly.

He caught my gaze before glancing back to his food.

There's no way he would, right?

Yao: I obviously don't 'like' it either. Prowling around the grounds...

He slowly turned, looking at me.

I darted my gaze away.

Was he pretending not to know about it?

Arthur: You're being awfully relaxed about this, Yao.

Yao: It'll take more than a mere hunter to rile me up.

Feliciano: With so many vampires living here it's a wonder they hadn't come before.

Arthur: Because they had common sense. They knew they'd be torn apart in seconds.

T-torn apart?

My mind wandered back to the vampire that bit me, Yao 'handling' it.

Would they really have no qualms about killing a person?

After all, they did threaten to kill me should I try running away.

I'd like to think they've changed somewhat since then, though there isn't solid evidence supporting that wish.

Still, it was a relief Yao hadn't shared what happened yesterday.

I didn't need anyone else knowing something so deep and personal.

No, only Yao could know.
