Chapter 28

Scarlet's POV .

" Ugh , why am I hurting everywhere "- I mumbled to myself as I sat up .

I was clean and had a few bandages ; wait I can't find some of my scars . How did they disappear . What am I thinking .
It's good because I want to forget everything about my dad and Margaret .

I heard a knock and watched as a petite nurse with brunette hair come in .

" Wonderful , you are awake ! " - She sang while checking my vitals before leaving .

" Oh yeah and you have visitors "- she continued poking her head back in .

" Visitors ? " - I asked .

" Yes , five teenagers ! "- she replied .

I smiled as I gave my consent for them to come in .

" Scarlet ! "- I heard Kelvin scream while hugging me tight .

" You are kind of suffocating me , "- I whispered .

" Sorry about that , "- he said as he finally let me go .

" And owwww "- I playfully hit him in the chest . " I'm still in pain "- I said in-between seriousness and humor .

" I'm sorry ! " - he said in between laughs .

" Hey guys! " - I said with an awkward wave .

I was immediately engulfed in another hug .
" We are so sorry for the stupid silent treatment that day "- Kelvin mumbled on my neck .

" Don't worry about it plus I would have ripped Margaret's head off if she had done anything to any of you guys , " - I said with anger .

I took a glance at Mark who was leaning on the wall and immediately looked away as I felt butterflies explode in my tummy .

I was able to breathe again after seconds of losing my breath ; what's happening to me ?

" Anyway , we brought you a fruit basket ! " - Beatrice said as she placed it on my lap .

" Goodie ! "- I sang as I bit into an apple .

" Why are you looking at me like that ? "- I asked and took another bite into it .

" We were kind of expecting a thank you , "- Maya said with a chuckle .

" So did you guys bring any water because I've been thirsty for a while "- I said as I felt a patchy throat .

I saw them shake their heads with chuckles.

" Well .. you were kind of gone for two and a half months " - Maya said with a sad smile .

" Oh "- I can't believe Margaret starved me for so long .

" But no need to worry about that now , we are together again "- Jared finally joined in .

" Yeah , I'm happy to be with you all "- I said with a smile .
I was peeling a banana when someone handed me a bottle of water , I felt tingles so I turned and looked at the familiar dimpled smile I had missed .

" Thanks , "- I mumbled as I opened the cup to take a gulp .
Now that was refreshing !

" So when are you coming back home ? "- Kelvin asked with a pouted lip .

" They said I would be home in a week so don't miss me too much guys , "- I said as I playfully yet a little painfully slapped on Kelvin's pouted lip .

" Ouch ! "- he yelled and cooed his lips .

Everyone had laughs as Kelvin continued to suffer with his lips.

After catching up with them for over three hours , we finally said our good byes before they left .

I laid back down on the bed as I decided to rest for while .

I felt someone lips kiss my cheek and immediately jolted my eyes as I tried to bite the person's lips off .

" Calm down ! "- I heard a familiar voice .

" Mark ? , I thought you were all gone ? "- I asked as I touched the spot he kissed .

" I wanted to be with you alone , "- he said as he sat by my bed .

"Ok , so how long have you been here ? "- I asked .

" A while to be able to hang balloons and teddy bears "- he said as I gawked at my surroundings . My room was covered in violet balloons with cute messages of getting well soon plus lovely teddy bears and flowers to brighten the whole place up .

" You didn't have to, "- I said as I took a cream coloured bear holding up a red heart .

" Anything for you , "- he said as he shifted more to my side ; I moved a bit so we could both share the bed .

I later sat there in awkward silence as I felt Mark's gaze on me .

" So how is Kelsy ? "- I asked to stop the awkward silence .

" Oh , she's fine . Because of her we had to walk around in this clothes till this evening before coming out of the house , "- he said with a chuckle .

" Why would you guys hide coming to visit me away from her " - I said with a scoff .

" I didn't want her to trouble you "- he simply said as he gently pushed me down as he laid down by my side .

" Just sleep ,"- he whispered in my ear .

" But - I "- he cut me off with his hand on my mouth .

" Just sleep , "- I gasped and squeezed my eyes shut to make me feel sleep .

" But I'm not feeling comfortable with you lying next to me on this small bed , "- I rambled as he sat up to look at me .

I bit the insides of my cheeks as I waited impatiently for him to speak .

He laid back down as he he placed his head on my neck and pulled me even closer to his side .

" Just sleep "- he repeated as I felt a smirk against my neck .

I giggled as I let myself fall asleep beside him shifting away a bit .
