It's like looking at a huge, overcooked takoyaki ball that refused to be pulled out from the tray it was cooking from.
With a strange net-like design on the surface glowing in a green color, of course.
Kiana couldn't help but think that if this really was a takoyaki ball, all their problems would be solved just by eating the thing.
"Grandpa Otto, Amber", beside her, Sirin spoke up worriedly while keeping a firm grip on her little sister's arm. "What's the situation in there?"
Otto's silver-haired secretary, Amber, gave her a brief sideglance, before returning her gaze to the holographic screens in front of her. "As well as it could be, Miss Sirin."
"What do you mean by that?"
"What Amber meant, my granddaughter", Otto smiled, patting Sirin's shoulder briefly. "Is that the people trapped there are still relatively fine. There's no deaths yet."
Sirin nodded. "That's good."
Kiana breathed a sigh of relief. It would be bad if there are already casualties...
Otto turned and gave her a fond headpat, too, which Kiana tried to stop him from doing. She wasn't a little kid anymore! "Grandpa Otto!"
The blonde Supreme Overseer just smiled, before stopping and turning back to the holographic screens.
Kiana peered at them, too. She was feeling suspicious of it all.
If what the scans revealed are true, of the Herrscher of Chaos unleashing their power on all of them in there, then shouldn't there be people that lost their lives already?
Not to be pessimistic, but it's just facing reality. Fully-awakened Herrschers usually result to instantaneous massacres. Therefore, the fact that after all this time, no one has died...it was concerning.
Sure, Hosuh is also in there, he has his healing magic and Valkyrie talent, but there's no way he could've reached all the injured before they died. He's only fourteen, a teenager. Not some omniscient healer god.
It's really strange...like there was something much sinister planned by the ruler of that realm...
There was a thud behind Kiana and Sirin, and the two sisters turned around to get face-to-face with a maiden.
She has blonde hair in twin drills, wearing a corset, a long puffed sleeve shirt, a short skirt, and long boots with thigh-length black socks.
She also has a hat with a yellow gem adorning it, at the center of a flower-shaped hairpin.
Just by looking at her experienced gaze, Kiana could tell that she wasn't just some random cosplayer here to see some action.
"Mami Tomoe, Senior Magical Girl protecting Mutsufatsu", the maiden introduced herself with a short curtsy. "You called for me, Otto Apocalypse?"
Sirin whirled her head to Otto so fast, Kiana worried that she might have gotten whiplash.
"You're a Magi that specializes with creating entrances on barriers, right?", Otto's gaze on Mami was cold and stern. "After all, you are considered the strongest one among your kind."
He said it like Magical Boys and Girls are entirely alien from humans, but the maiden didn't seem to mind. She smiled. "Yes, Otto-sama. I am the strongest one of the Magi so far."
"And can I trust you to help us?"
"Of course. After all, my cute apprentice and my friend's apprentice are there. I can't simply leave them!"
