"Race you to the water?!" Ashton exclaims as he locks his car.
"Let's go!" I yell, taking off from the car park.
I'm half way down the sand as I turn around and see Calum and Luke right behind me. I pick up the pace and plunge into the salty, clear water. I let out a sigh of relief.
"HA! Man you guys are slow!" I laugh, catching my breathe.
"We let you win!" Luke, breathes in deeply, hands resting on his knees, head hanging low.
"Yeah I could see the expression on your faces, half way down the beach, it didn't look like you were out of breathe at all!" I sarcastically say.
Calum picks me up and throws me over his right shoulder, carrying me like how Shrek held Fiona.
"Come on Calum! We've been here for 5 minutes and you're already physically abusing me !"
"Do you want me to put you down?" He asks, with a wicked look on his face.
"Yes please!" I realise "Wait! No! Not no-" I was cut off as Calum gently drops me into the water.
I rise up from the water as if I were some sort of angry witch who was buried for 1 million years. Calum walks off laughing.
"Hey Calum?" I call.
Surprisingly enough he turns around "Yes Andie?" He turns around and grins.
I splash a wave of water onto him, drenching his shirt. I fall into a hysterical laughing fit. Ashton and Luke join in as Calum stands there wringing out a corner of his shirt. I close my eyes for half a second and open them to Calum running to me and splashing me with waves of water. Luke joins me, drenching Ashton and Calum with the salty, crystal clear water.
"AYE!" We keep our hands still and look up to the hills of white sand. "Been here for less than 10minutes and you guys are already drowning eachother?!" Michael shouts.
"Pretty much" Calum yells back at Michael.
I look around the beach and realise that there was nobody here except for one family and a group of international travellers. Driving 4 hours for this beach was worth it. Crystal clear water at the best temperature, white sand that made rubbery sounds each time you took a step. It was like the heaven of all beaches in Australia, well of all the ones I've been to and I've been to a lot.
Michael runs down to the water.
"Look at you guys! You do realise you still have your clothes on right and not your actual swimmers?"
I look down at my clothes, the only pair of dry clothes I brought on this trip.
"Oops" Calum, Ashton, Luke and I laugh as Michael gradually joins in.
We start walking to where Michael had set down our things. I take out of my towel and dry my face.
"Hulk?" Calum points to my towel with a strange look on his face.
"Yes?" I reply raising an eye brow.
He pulls out his beach towel revealing the 'Batman' symbol.
"No" He points at my towel "Yes" Calum delibrately waving his towel in my face.
We continue arguing about which super hero is better until Ashton blurts out "FOOD!" We instantly turn our attention to the small eski Ashton holds in his hand.
Michael steals it out of his hand and opens it, revealing 5 large burritos.
Luke kneels down beside the tiny eski, looks down at the burrito and slowly turns his head to face Ashton "I love you" He says with a blank face.
Michael smacks him on the back of his head "Shut up and eat"
Luke flashes him a dirty look as he picks up a burrito and sits down. I dry my hair with my towel and Calum gets a burrito.
"Andie"
I look up as Calum throws a burrito in my direction. I throw my towel over my shoulder and catch it.
"Thanks"
I unwrap the paper and take a bite to reveal the most amazing burrito I have ever tasted.
"ASHTON! Did you make these" I point to my burrito in utter happiness.
"Yeah, why do you like it?" Ashton replies as he takes a bite out of his food.
"UH HUH!" I exclaim taking another bite.
Calum comes and sits down next to me, Luke on the other side of Calum, Ashton on the other side of me and Michael sitting next to Ashton. We sit there in a line watching the calm waves crash onto shore.
After 15 minutes we finish eating. Calum pulls me up.
"Swim?" Calum asks lifting the bottom of his shirt up.
"Let's go" I take off my soaking wet shirt, revealing my swimmers.
Calum takes off his shirt and we run into the water. Ashton, Michael and Luke follow.
We stay in the water for about an hour and a half until we decide to leave. We run out of the water shouldering eachother with each step. I dry myself with my towel and pick up my shirt. It was still drenched.
"You ok?" Calum asks as he shakes the water out of his hair.
"Clothes are still wet" I wring out my shirt, a fountain of water drips from it.
"Did you pack spare?" Calum picks up his towel and dries himself.
"Hehe... No" I smile, with an unsure laugh.
"Here" Calum takes a shirt out from his bag and throws it to me "Sorry if it's huge, it's a spare"
"Thanks, I thought I was meant to be the prepared one" I joke as I slip on large, faded red, V-Neck shirt.
The shirt came down, just above my knee.
"All right guys, get ready for the ride home!" Ashton grins as he slings his backpack over his shoulder and picks up the eski, that once held the amazing burritoes.
I take my phone out of my bag and see a text message from my Dad saying,
Hey sweetie! I'll be home late tonight, so I'll pick you up from Calum's at about 11:50, Love you x"
I text back,
Hey Dad, don't worry about it, Calum's friend is dropping me off, we went to the beach today. Love you Dad, have a safe trip back x
I put my back pack on and slide my phone back into the front pocket. Ashton, Michael and Luke are ahead of Calum and I walking to the car.
"Fun weekend huh?" Calum says putting his arm around me.
"Yeah, thanks" I reach my arm up and around his neck, leaving me walking on a diagonal.
Michael, Luke and Ashton stop at the car and look at us for half of a second, look to eachother and smile as Ashton unlocks the car door. Michael slides into the backseat and Calum and I follow in.
Ashton drives away and Calum's arm still hasn't left me.
We drive for about 2 hours until I feel sleep take over. I close my eyes and rest my head on Calum's shoulder, and fall asleep.
