The envoy made his demands from the other side of the compound walls, "You who call yourselves giant killers, surrender into our hands so that we may pacify the giant army."
Chelnuk cocked his head to make sure he had heard correctly. Looking at Mendro he apologised, "I am sorry my friend, we have brought calamity upon your home." He got up from the table and began to walk outside.
Mendro called his wife and children to himself and they went to hide in the well.
"Coward," whispered Disgast as he and Enoch followed.
There was a small force of about fifty men sent to capture Chelnuk and the others. Without fear The son of Aram's champion walked boldly up to the Jashnuk's battle leader. "We are not your enemies we are trying to help the people of this land defeat the giants in the south."
The battle leader's horse was a little jittery because of Chelnuk's size. He replied, "If you do not join us willingly then we shall present your lifeless bodies to the giants before they come to our land."
