Episode 55: Dark Idol (???)

I stepped forward.

My eyes caught sight of what I was seeking.

The relic of Ashiak,

The most powerful dark mage in the history of this world.

At least, until now that is.

Once I obtained her powers, I would be the strongest.

And unlike her, I wouldn't run wild.

The room containing the idol was pitch black, 

With the walls, floor, and ceiling all being made of some unknown black stone.

Whoever designed this temple must've had a way with masonry.

The stones were perfectly cut, showing few signs of tools being used.

Even with magic, this kind of craftsmanship was difficult to do.

Not even my ex-wife could do something this clean-cut.

I chuckled.

Now wasn't the time to get sentimental.

I had abandoned her and my son for this,

For the sake of power!

Power that could make the entire world tremble under my feet.

Once I obtained it, I would gain the ability to absorb other forms of magic.

Soon I would become powerful as to rival the Magus Maximus!
