Chapter 7

~Zac's POV~

The light ar the end of the dark tunnel was bright.

Am I dead?

No I can't be.

I never told Amber I love her!

"Zac." A male voice said.

"Who's there?!"

"Its me Michael, your brother."

Oh my god. Michael was my younger brother that died at age 16. He was my best friend. When that drunk driver killed him I died inside. I was never the same again.

"Michael what are you doing here?" I asked.

"You died in a hit and run Zac. I'm here to send you back, it's not your time to die." My brother explained.

I was dead. I'm in heaven. Amber needs me.

"Amber is worried about you." Michael said.

"She is?" I ask.

"Yeah. She acts like she hates you but she doesn't. She loves you Zac. And you know you love her too. Bro if I was you, I'd ask her to marry me."

"I will. I'm going to ask her to marry me!" I tell myself out loud.

"Zac you're in the hospital now. You have to go. Goodbye brother." Michael smiled.

I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. I was blinded by light.

I no longer felt light like a feather.

My chest hurts.

Everything hurts!

I swear I'm in hell.

I can't open my eyes.

I let the darkness consume me.

~ 3 hours later ~

~Amber's POV~

"You can go see him now. He's awake." The female receptionist said to me.

"T-thank you." I reply quietly.

I walked to Zac's hospital room alone. My mom had taken Caden and Avalon to the Hart household so I could stay here.

I knocked quietly before entering.

His head was bandaged and his left arm was broken, and he had a mild concussion. It's a miracle he came out with only those injuries. The doctor had told me that he stopped breathing for two minutes!

"Hey Am." Zac whispered weakly.

"Hey sweetheart." I reply, fully aware that I just called him sweetheart.

"You just called me sweetheart." He said confused.

"I know I did. Scoot over."

He moved over and I laid beside him.

Then, out of no where, "I love you Amber."

My eyes widened and my heart stopped. Zac's eyes were closed.

"W-what?"

His eyes opened to reveal raw sapphire pools of emotion.

"I said, I love you."

I was speechless. Here he was in the hospital after being hit by a car and he tells me he loves me?!

I don't hesitate, "I love you too Zac."

He smiled, his face looking relieved.

I leaned over and kissed him.

It was a short sweet and passionate kiss.

"I would get down on one knee, but since this is the best I can do. Amber Autumn Hart will you marry me?"
