Chapter Twenty One

A/N: Okay so just clearing some things up, Kaylin and Poppy are both 16. Kaylin's birthday is April 1st, Poppy's is February 22, unless I've mentioned her birthday somewhere else along in the story, please let me know because I honestly forgot. Also, for the story's sake, Chandler is gonna be 16 even though I know in the time I've put the story he'd be 17, he's gonna be 16 in this one.

September 6th, 2016

I spent the past few days in Orlando with Austin, Chandler, and Brianna and it was really fun but I'm glad to be back home. As soon as I walk through the door to my mom's apartment, I see Kaylin sitting on my couch with a bag of chips in her lap.

She looks up and screams. She jumps off the couch and runs over to me, engulfing me in a hug. "LOOK HOW BIG YOU'VE GROWN. DID YOU GROW AN INCH? WOAH." She says jokingly after releasing me from the hug. I playfully roll my eyes. "I grew half an inch." I grin and she sighs, placing her hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry Pops." She looks directly into my eyes trying to keep a straight face on. "You'll grow more later on in life, you won't be a hobbit forever." I groan. "I'm 5"3 and a half. I'm not a Hobbit."

She shushes me. "You are a hobbit but you are my hobbit. NOW DEAR POPPY SEED, TELL ME EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE" She pulls me down on to the couch causing me to sit next to her.

"Kaylin, shhh." my mom says walking out of the kitchen. Well, walking a few feet to be out of the kitchen. I swear this Apartment will be the death of me. It does make me feel like a hobbit.

"Sorry ma'am." Kaylin says in her politest voice.

"Now tell me what's going on in yo life." Kaylin says in a whisper causing my mom to roll her eyes and get back to cooking.

I shrug. "Nothing. I just went to Florida that's really it. Other than Elliot and Nathan dating me and never hanging out with me but whatever."

She shakes her head, bringing her voice back up to a normal level. "That boy, I'm gonna smack the gay out of him."

I lightly smack her shoulder. "Be nice."

Kaylin groans.

"Anyways, how has L.A been treating you? By the way you look like Spongebob did in that episode where he was trying to get tan."

She grins.

"Nat and I are, I don't even know what we are to be honest. But, we're close so that's really all I care about. But, WE SAW A BEAR. It may of been at a zoo so it wasn't as cool, but it was still a bear."

"Oh gosh." I laugh and she nods.

 "It was great."

We sit in silence for a minute until she jumps up, excitement written on her face.

"GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT?" She grins madly. Oh no what has she done this time.

"What?" I ask.

"CAN I TELL HER? PLEASE? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?" Kaylin asks turning to my mom.

My mom nods. "Yeah, go ahead."

Kaylin grabs her bag and digs through it until she finds what she's looking for. Then she pulls out two pieces of paper.

Her grin doesn't fall. "I got us tickets to see the Vamps." She squeals.

I jump up in front of her and she shows me the tickets. She really did it oh my gosh.

"When's the concert?" I ask trying to hide my excitement. She looks down at the tickets and then looks back up at me. "Uh next week." She says sheepishly. I stare at her, trying to process everything.

"I WAS GONNA TELL YOU WHEN I FIRST GOT THEM A COUPLE MONTHS AGO, BUT THEN I WANTED TO MAKE IT A SURPRISE, BUT THEN YOU WENT TO ORLANDO, AND THEN I COULDN'T TELL YOU, SORRY YOU DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH TIME TO PREPARE."

I shake my head and throw my arms around her. "Thank you." I whisper and she hugs me back, I can tell she's smiling.

I pull away from the hug after a couple seconds. "Where's the concert at?" I ask. She giggles a little. Not like an actual giggle, but a nervous giggle. Oh no.

"It's just in Nashville. BUT still." She says. "The good news is though," she continues. "You get to miss like two days of school." I laugh. "Woo."

Karson bursts through the door with a grin on his face.

"Hi guys." He says smiling and sitting in the chair next to me. "What's got you so bubbly?" I ask, a small smirk on my face. He shrugs. "Nothing."

"Karson was just hanging out with Lexi." My mom informs me. I choke on air. "Don't tell me you-" I start but I get cut off by Kaylin screaming.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. DID YOU ASK HER OUT? SHE'S A DEMON SPAWN HOW COULD YOU OH MY GOSH."

Karson starts blushing. "Yes, I did ask her out."

I groan. "If you two ever get married and have miniature Lexi's, do I still have to be the aunt?"

Karson rolls his eyes. "Of course not." He says jokingly.

I scrunch my face up in disgust. "At least you have a girlfriend." Kaylin sighs.

"If she breaks your heart," Kaylin pounds her fist against her hand trying to act as if she's tough. "Tell me. I'll handle it."

Karson rolls his eyes. "Like that would happen."

Poor innocent child. Sigh.

"Oh by the way, Ms. Delewater, can I stay the night?" Kaylin asks, turning on the couch to look at my mom in the kitchen. "Sure Kaylin." She replies and Kaylin throws her fists up in the air. "WOO HOO."

For the rest of the night Kaylin and I watch old musicals and talk about her movie and everything. It actually seems really interesting.

Soon, the two of us crash on the couches and sleep.
