Chapter Four

June 2nd

Summer Day 3

"Okay, so you brought your cute swimsuit right?" Kaylin asks, sitting on my bed. I roll my eyes. Nat and everyone won't be here until like 9:30. It's 7 right now. 

"Why does my swimsuit matter? But yes I did." I tell her. "Because. You gotta look hot for Austin." She winks. I choke on air. "You're joking right? He's 19. I'm 16. That's kind of illegal in Tennessee Kay." I tell her and she shrugs. "Besides, we just met. I'm not gonna date someone who thinks I'm 'hot'." I tell her air-quoting the word hot. She groans. "Right, you're all about personality and stuff." [You can imagine the swimsuit bc I rlly don't know what to put for it lol oops?]

I roll my eyes and go to the bathroom to put my swimsuit on and examine myself in the mirror. I let out a sigh and slip on my shorts and t-shirt. I want abs, but then excercising is a lot of unnecessary work. 

I go back out to my room and see Kaylin on my phone. "Oh yeah. Here she is." She grins and hands me my phone. 

"Hello?" I say into the phone. It's my brother. "Poppy you loser. You were supposed to call me last night." He whines into the phone. I let out a laugh. "Yeah sorry about that. I fell asleep as soon as we got back home." I tell him. I feel like he's rolling his eyes. "Rude. What did you party too hard or something?" Now I roll my eyes. "Yes, obviously I partied too hard because I party." He laughs. "So what did you really do?"

"Hung out with Nat Wolff and the rest of the cast from Paper Towns." I tell him like it's no big deal. He laughs harder than I've ever heard him laugh before. I put him on speaker for Kaylin to hear. She starts laughing at his laughter. "If you don't believe her check out Cara's twitter." Kaylin says. I give her a confused look and then she shows me the Tweet. 

'Cara Delevingne: Met the coolest people yesterday omg' and then there was a photo of the eight of us together. I smile a little, and Elliot runs in. "Guys did you see Cara's twitter?" He asks. We laugh and nod. "Dude oh my gosh. How could you do this to me? First you go off to Gatlinburg, and then become friends with famous people. To think I didn't use your toothbrush last night." Karson, my brother, says. I glare at the phone. "I took mine with me you idiot." 

"Then who's toothbrush did I drop in the toilet?" He asks and I facepalm. "You fucking idiot." 

"Sigh. I better go buy Mom a new toothbrush. Bye." He hangs up and I laugh. My brother and I are pretty close even though our ages are kind of close together. He's 13 and I'm 16 but still. We just get along better. 

A few seconds later my phone dings. It was the groupchat Nat made yesterday. 

Cara :P - Did you guys see my tweet????

Kaylin the only ten i see:  ofc we did omg Poppy's brother was just fangboying about it

Nat The Bat - Poppy you have a brother? what eLSE ARE YOU HIDING FROM US

Poppy Seed: i'm secretly batman obvi

Australia: i kNEW IT. I TOLD YOU GUYS

Justiceeeee: ok but guys can we come get u sooner bc this hotel is fooking boring. 

Halseyy: what he said ^
