The party finally ended with the lovely fireworks Mercy made herself.  Though neither of us are chemist I'd say it all went very well. The last of the guests finally left, all with heart felt good bye's. Josephine decided to go stay with Bard at a close by inn for the evening, wonder what their going to do there? Tee hee. James and Stephanie will be spending the next two day's here, they arrived a bit early for their mission trip just to see Jaclyn. I must say I was rather pleased with my love's sun dress, though I am more partial to red, green really is a good color on her. I'm so happy everyone refrained from making such a big mess it's much easier to clean up the garden.

"Look I said I was sorry! What more do you want from me!" Shouted Mercy, she's in there being scolded by her brother I bet.

"I thought I told you not to mark any of those... Those vermin!" Shouted James back at Mercy, my curiosity getting the better of me I've decided to peak through the window of the library. "Your heart is always so sympathetic to everything except humans! Can you ever care about people for once!"

"I was! I was thinking about Ceil's well being!" Cried Mercy with tears in her eyes. "But what I did was good! He'll be serving God when the Armageddon and the rapture happen!"

"I don't care! Do you know how powerful that one demon is!" Shouted James back at Mercy. "How is it you are the best at killing people but you can't kill a single demon on your own!"

"I'm sorry! But because of Ceil's Faustian contract I couldn't bring myself to leave Ceil all alone." She said through her still drunken tears.

"But you could have adopted him!" Said James in a loud talking down voice. "You had so many option's and you chose the stupidest one of them all!"

"I can't adopt Ceil!" She cried out. "I only have one year left living as a human! I can't adopt him because after a year with me I'd have to ditch him!"

"Well you could have left him with us after you went off to collect souls!" Said James as he raised his voice again. "Or you could do what Grell does! Come back all the time instead of being some stupid selfish irresponsible girl!"

"Grell doesn't come back all the time!" She cried, that being true, I know where this is going to go now. "He get's himself into trouble every time he comes here to be with me! It's been a week since I've seen him before today!"

"What about your contract!" Said James. "Doesn't that damn contract keep him with you?"

"It didn't have any specifics." Said Mercy as she calmed a little. "Only that he would always have to be with me. Whether it's in a physical form, a bird form, or just in spirit. But he tries his best to be here with me."

"Dammit Jaclyn how could you be so damn stupid!" Shouted James as he dared to slap his hand across her face, I must say though I respect him he's going to pay for that. "Why would you make such a stupid contract!"

"I'm sorry James." Said Mercy as she touched her cheek. "I didn't mean to fail you again."

"Are you going to cry now?" Said James looking rather disappointed."Dammit Jaclyn all you had to do was what I told you. You would have been better off that way."

"But would I have been happy?" Asked Mercy as she looked up at her brother. "Is that the thing that would have made my life worth living?"

"Jaclyn I only want what's best for you." Said James as he placed his hands on his sisters shoulders. "But how am I supposed to protect you if you keep pushing me away?"

"I never said I needed protection!" Shouted my lady. "Since when have I ever needed protection? I always fend for myself, I don't remember ever needing yours or anyone else's help!"
