Rayah POV

I paced around the house in slippers and a robe. I had just gotten out of the shower and I was so refreshed. I ate some of the salad from my fork and moaned in satisfaction. The salad was amazing. It had bacon bits, carrots, eggs, ham, pickles, and lettuce. The bacon ranch topped it off.

I heard the broken doorbell as someone pushed it repeatedly thinking I could hear a bell. Eventually they knocked and I looked through the peephole to see Chris. My eyes widened.

"One minute!", I yelled as I ran to put the robe on my bed and throw some shorts on under my oversized jersey nightgown.

I pulled my hair into a messy bun, and grabbed a donut from the kitchen as I went to open he door.

I let Chris in and he looked around my apartment. He smiled at me and I waved.

"So watcha want?", I asked.

"Roy is coming back in a week but I kinda missed you around the house.", he shrugged.

I smiled and cooed at him pinching his cheeks.

"Ian no softy so don't do that shit no more.", he laughed.

I nodded and went back to eating my salad.

"What you been up to?", I asked.

"Getting these tour dates and stuff together. I wanna bring Roy with me half of the tour so if you want, you can join us... Before you say no, I really need you.", he pleaded.

"No? Nigga yes. I would love to go on tour with you. I've never been out of the country anyways so I could get experience outta this.", I said and he smiled wide.

My phone beeped and I looked at the message.

Knox
Court date February 2nd. 2 months away.

I cleared my throat and sighed.

"Mom bugging you?", he asked laughing.

I wanted to be angry but I know he knows nothing about her passing.

"My mother was murdered a while ago.", I said eating more salad. It was silent untill I looked up to see him staring at me.

"I know your family must have been devastated.", he said with sympathy.

"I don't have a family. It was just me and her. I could've been with her today, had I not...never mind.", I shook my head.

"Well I almost lost mines. When I was younger, my step pops used to abuse my mom. It got so bad at points to where I thought he would kill her. I even thought about killing him. It seemed she was so stuck on pleasing him that he ignored my plea for help.", he said shaking his head.

A tear rolled down my cheek. Not because I was sad, but because there was finally some one who experienced some of what happened to me.

I quickly wiped the tear and ate some more of my salad.

"Chris your making this emotional.", I giggled.
