Hunter and Trevor were alone in the house, Mya and Jamie having gone out on a date. After Jack's text, the two had sat on the couch awkwardly, both avoiding the topic. They had a movie playing, Hunter laid with her feet on Trevor's lap as she watched.
She'd caught him stealing glances at her during the movie, looking to want to say something but the words never actually came out. Hunter was barely paying attention to the movie, too caught up with her own thoughts. She had repeated what to say over and over but she was scared.
Stupid fucking fear holding her back.
Trevor finally reached forward, pausing the movie and facing her. Except when the words left his mouth, it wasn't what she wanted to hear.
"You leave tomorrow." He mumbled, and Hunter sat up moving closer to the boy. She leaned into his side, his arm hugging around her shoulders. "I wish I could keep you here forever." Trevor's other arm went around her, pulling her onto his lap.
Hunter frowned, "Trev.."
"Yeah, baby?"
"Remember the whole, no strings thing?" She asked meekly, and his face fell, hands loosing from her waist.
"Yeah, I know, I'm not really being—" she kissed him before he could say anything.
"Fuck no strings." Hunter mumbled against his mouth, feeling his lips curve against her own. He broke away, bright eyes staring into her own.
