When Lorelai and Luke had offered to take Rory grocery shopping, Logan knew it was the perfect opportunity to get some one-on-one time with his son and to finally call Odette back. After all, in spite of everything, he knew he owed her some sort of explanation.

'I'm alright Mom, I'll stay here. What if Dylan wakes up and he needs me?' Rory said.
'Well I'm sure Logans more than capable', Lorelai said, winking at Logan. Logan knew that she was saying this more for Rorys sake than anyone elses. He could sense the uneasiness in her voice, even if Rory couldn't and he knew that none of Rorys family had ever trusted him really. Rory looked at her mom.
'Really?' she asked.
'Really' her mum repeated back to her 'Logan is Dylans father and I'm sure he'd love to have some one-on-one time with him'. Now it was time for Logan to interject. He placed a hand of top of Rorys.
'Listen Rory, your moms totally right' he looked up into her eyes 'Dylans asleep and I'll call you if anything happens. Plus, I'm great with kids. I look after my sisters kids all the time.'
'Exactly how many times have you looked after them?' Rory chuckled, as she pushed Logans hands away. She hated him showing any sort of affection towards her any more. Logan looked down at his feet.
'Erm like two', he answered. Rory couldn't help but laugh at this.
'And aren't they like 7 and 10?' she asked.
'Soo...' Logan began.
'So, babies are completely different' Rory said.

Lorelai grabbed her daughters arm and pulled her towards the door.
'Come on Rory' she said, holding out Rorys jacket, 'I have your jacket and Lukes already in the truck. Plus, we can get tater tots and pop tarts and as many twizzlers as you'd like'.
'And coffee?' Rory asked.
'Oh yes! Definitely coffee' Lorelai replied. Logan couldn't help but laugh at this. He knew that would be the selling point.

As soon as Lorelai and Rory had shut the door behind them Logan walked into Rorys old bedroom and stared down at his newborn son, who was lying in the crib.
'Oh boy', he began, 'you have no clue what is ahead of you...this is a mad, mad world.. and your mom' he laughed to himself, thinking back to the fun times he and Rory had had together, 'well she's probably the maddest thing about it'. 'Now listen to me son' he continued, 'I'm not gonna be around here as much as I'd like to, but that doesn't mean I'll love you any less. Any time, you just give me a call - although you can't right now, you're a baby - and I'll be on the next plane over here'. Logan sighed, thinking of all the times with his son he was sure to miss.

Logan suddenly remembered the reason he had sent Rory away in the first place. He pulled his cell phone out his pocket. Wow! 25 missed calls from Odette, that was unbelievable! Well actually, knowing Odette it wasn't. He tapped her name on his phone and it began to ring. She picked up straight away.
'25 missed calls Odette, really?' Logan asked.
'Well, I think that's pretty rational' Odette shouted down the phone 'when you pretty much admit to me that you're the father of another womans child and then you just hang up on me!'
'Odette' Logan interrupted, 'I was on a transatlantic flight!'
'And what time did you land Logan' Odette asked, 'and don't you even dare try and lie to me! I looked up your flight!'.
'Well you've clearly done your research now!' Logan said as he walked out of the bedroom, careful not to wake up Dylan, 'so you tell me'.
'6!' Odette shouted '6!' Logan put his hand over the speaker, he knew the noise was still way too loud, but still Odette carried on. 'You got in at 6 and what time is it now Logan? It's almost 8pm in Connecticut! And don't tell me that's not where you are! Because I know Logan, I know!' Logan could picture his wifes face getting redder and redder. He wanted to scream out as much as she was, but all he could do was speak calmly.
'Calm down Odette, I think it's about time I told you the full story' he whispered.
'It is about time!' Odette was still shouting, 'it was about time 9 months ago when that child was concieved!' Logan sat down on the sofa and began..
'I don't really know what I can tell you Odette, I'm sure you've probably worked it out already.' Odette was silent now, so Logan carried on. 'Rory Gilmore was an old Yale girlfriend, but we broke it off when we graduated. Although, we never stopped seeing each other really..and we were you know..even when you and I...I was gonna tell you but..'. Logan couldn't believe how long Odette had been quite for, so he used the opportunity to carry on telling the story. 'When I got engaged to you, I told her we had to end it and we did, well I thought we did. Until about a month or so later, she called. She called telling me she was pregnant. So yeah, I am the further of her, well our, baby boy'. Logan stopped and waited for Odettes response, but all he could hear was his wifes ear pearcing scream...
'Owww!!!'
