As Logan got out of the cab at the airport he heard his phone ping in his pocket. It was a message from Rory. There was a photo of a beautiful baby boy with the text 'Meet Dylan Richard Gilmore, born September 5th weighing 5lb 7oz. Dylan would like to say a nice big hello to all of his friends and family'.

Logan was fuming. He hit the call button at the top of the screen. Rory answered immediately.
'Rory, I didn't think you were being serious when you said you would announce my sons birth to me via some sort of a round robin WhatsApp message' he shouted down the reciever. Rorys reply was calm.
'Logan, I called you to tell you I was in labour and you were a total jerk!' Logan grabbed his cases, tipped the driver and headed towards the airport entrance, using his shoulder to hold his phone to his ear.
'I'm sorry Rory, it was just bad timing that was all' he said.
'Oh I'm sorry I went into labour at an inconvenient time for you' Rory replied. Her voice sounded more tense now. Logan was now making his way towards the check in desk.
'Anyway,' he began, 'I was just calling to say he looks absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to meet him! I'm at the check in desk right now, I have a flight at 8am, so I should be with you tonight.'
'Alright' Rory said in response, 'We're just leaving the hospital now. Lukes gonna come pick you up at the airport.' Logan could hear a faint wimper in the background.
'Can you switch to video call, so I can see him?' he asked.
'Well moms just putting him in the car seat, but sure' Rory replied.

Just then Logans phone began to vibrate. Odettes name appeared at the top of the screen. She could wait. This was more important. Rory turned the camera around and Logan saw a tiny little baby, dressed in a crisp blue romper and sat in a car seat. He couldn't help but begin to well up.
'Logan, are you crying?' Rory asked.
'Must be something in the air' he heard Lorelai say in the background.
'Rory, he's, he's just so small' Logan said.
'I know and we made him' replied Rory.
'We did'. It was very rare that Logan and Rory shared a tender moment like this any more, so sharing a moment like this now made it all the more special. Which is what made Logan so furious when Odettes name appeared at the top of his screen again. Somethings wrong, he thought. Odette never called him more than once, not any more anyway. This must be something important. He made his excuses to Rory.
'Rory' I'm just at the check in desk now, I gotta go', which was true, although there were at least 10 people in front of him in the que.
'Ok, see ya tonight Daddy!' Rory replied. He couldn't help but smile at this as he hung up the phone.

Logan dialed his wifes number.
'Odette, what is it!' he barked.
'Logan, is it yours?!' Odette sounded crazed.
'Is what mine?' he asked her.
'You know what I'm talking about' she said 'or rather, who I'm talking about'. Oh crap, she knew.
'Odette, I really don't have time for this right now', Logan replied.
'Why?! Why?!' she was shouting, 'because you're at the airport! Where are you going?!'
Logan exhaled and put his hand on his hip. 'I told you where I'm going Odette, to New York on businesses!'
'Really?!' Odette screamed 'business! Or are you going to see her!'
Logan was exasperated now. 'Odette, what on earth are you talking about?' he asked.
'You're off to see Rory Gilmore' she began, 'because you are the father of her baby!'

'Name sir?' The checkout assistant asked.
'Odette, I really don't have time for this now!' said Logan 'I'll see you in two weeks'. And before she could answer he hung up the phone.
