.............but I felt nothing. I heard a clang and the cage fell apart around me. I see a tall figure come over with a blazing flame in their hand. I curl inward the best I can, prepared for an attack. But instead I felt the rope sizzle and burn away. I look up at the lady and she gives a friendly smile.

"Do not fear my child. I shall protect you from any harm. My name is Toriel, who are you?"She asks with this gentle voice

"Encre.....?"I say, shakily feeling her hand on my cheek

I back away a bit and she only gazed at me with understanding.

"Is there anyone I could send for?"She asks, gently scooping me up

I stayed quiet, unsure about her. I don't know if I could trust her just yet, let alone name my friends and risk them being targets. She sets me down in front of a fireplace and wraps me in a blanket.

"Oh...I see what they did.........You poor thing."She says from behind me

She probably saw what they burned into my neck.

She smiles at me and left me to give me space while I warmed up by the fire. She also said that she had to check on other refugees. She slowly worked me the next few days until I felt that I could trust her. I also met an old friend who was another refugee of hers. Azure's older brother, Paps. He made me feel safe and if he could trust her, I can too. He named his brother and I named Fallacy. I was also filling him in on what he missed about my friends and who they've met....Who we've met....The lives we made....He showed me what was done to him, calling it a branding. He says that's the burn in my neck. I started covering it up like I did with all my other scars, this one especially not one I want others to see.

One night, I peeked outside through a window and gasp. Toriel was outside with Fallacy! The window was open slightly so I could faintly hear their conversation.

"Ah! Welcome Fallacy! I see you finally read my letters! Does your visit mean that you'll join the Rebellion's side?"She asks

"As I said in the letter, I stay neutral. It does not concern me or my people."He says, crossing his arms

"Huh. I thought you'd have more interest in what happens to Encre's home village. Things don't exactly look good for it after all."She says

"Is that a threat?"He asks, narrowing his eyes at her

"No, of course not. You know my values, Fallacy. But you also know Asgore's values. If he gets that village, he will pick out every runaway or so-called beast that lives there and use them for experiments, labor, or worse. Simon will run wild there. I am trying to prevent that. I'm just stating facts. Would you rather Encre at his mercy again? He narrowly escaped getting sent as an experiment thanks to a spy I hid in his army. He really trusts you so I thought you'd put some more thought into it than the doesn't hurt me, not my problem attitude. Those walls can only block them off for so long before they crumble."She says

I didn't have a clue that was going to happen under Asgore's rule.

"I came for Encre, NOT politics. Do you have him or not?"He growls

She turns away, looking up and our eyes met.
