A couple months later sometime in 2019...

YOUR POV
"Natalia it's ok, we're just going to see if our papers got approved." I reassured my wife as we were on our way to the adoption center. "What if they won't approve them because of me?" She argued. It made my heart sink at the thought that we wouldn't be able to adopt a child just because of what Natasha's job used to be. But Tony said that he'd make sure they approved us because we're Avengers. What if that wasn't enough though? "I doubt that. We'll be fine I promise." Kissing the top of her hand. She gave me a sigh before nodding her head in acceptance. I knew she was still tense about the situation but seemed to relax a bit my words. It didn't take us long to find the child services center. Tasha and I shared a look before we got out of the car, obviously I opened the door for her because after she got out she immediately intertwined our fingers. I gave her a reassuring nod before we both made our way into the building. As soon as we walked in the few people who were there were already staring at us. I ignored the stares and so did Nat as we made our way to the service window. "Um excuse me?" I called out to the lady behind the desk. "Name?" She asked unamused. "Y/n and Natasha Romanoff. We have an appointment with Diana." I responded. The lady gave us both dirty looks before she found whatever she was looking for. "She'll be with you in a moment. Have a seat while you wait." She gestured towards the set of chairs that were in this hallway. Reluctantly we both sat next to each other and Natasha had started to draw patterns on the back of my hand. "Когда это закончится, я могу ее съесть? (When this is over can I eat her?)" I joked in Russian. This earned a laugh from Natalia and that beautiful smile I always adored to see. "Не думаю, что она будет вкусной. (I don't think she'd taste good.)" Which caused me to hum in agreement. We waited about 5 minutes before a tall young brunette woman came walking through the door towards the back. If i wasn't married right now I'd probably try to hit on her. Natasha noticed her as well and maybe she was thinking the same thing I couldn't really tell. All I knew is that she look conflicted. "Mrs. Romanoff?" The beautiful woman called out. Natalia and I both broke out of our trances and stood up in sync. I'm guessing this was Diana but I also noticed as she eyed me up and down as well as Tasha. "It's a pleasure to meet you both. I'm Diana." She greeted up while shaking our hands. "I'm Y/n and this is my wife Natasha." I responded with a smile on face. "I know who you both are. It's not everyday an Avenger comes in here. Congratulations on the marriage by the way." She said. I forgot that the world still doesn't know that I'm an Avenger because I've kept my identity that secret. "Let's go to my office." The brunette suggested as she showed us the way to her office. Natasha nudged me and I was confused on why. "Она прекрасна. (She's beautiful.)" Natalia stated. I let a smile take over at how I was thinking the same thing. "Я знаю. Это плохо, что она нам нравится? (I know. Is it bad that we like her?)." I questioned. "определенно. С каких это пор нам все равно? (Definitely. Since when do we care though?)." She shot back. "Хорошая точка зрения. (Good point.)" I laughed lightly. "Do you both speak more than one language?" Diana asked us as we entered her office and took a seat in front of her desk. "Yes." Natasha spoke to anyone else but me for the first time today. "That's amazing." Diana smiled at us. "Я тоже. (So do I.)" Both of Natalia and I's faces dropped. I looked down in embarrassment and Natalia's face turned bright red. "No need to be embarrassed. I'm flattered you both find me attractive." Diana winked at us it was absolute torture at how she was being a tease right now. "Sorry." I mumbled still shocked. I noticed Diana was just smiling at us with a slight blush on her face as well. She had nice hazel eyes just without the golden in them like mine. "So both of you have been approved for adoption." Diana explained. Natasha let out a breath of relief and we both smiled at each other. "But we still have concerns since The Avengers are probably the most dangerous people around." Both of our smiles dropped but we both understood why they would have concerns. "What exactly are your concerns?" Natasha questioned. Diana smiled at her and I was starting to wonder if this woman wanted us just as much as we wanted her. "We want to do a house visit to make sure it's suitable and safe for children. Other than that both of you have nothing to worry about." Diana reassured us. "Why don't you come over for dinner then?" I blurted out. Diana seemed a little surprised by my gesture and laughed nervously because she probably thought I was joking but I wasn't. I looked to Natasha for help and she just smiled and nodded. "We insist. You've helped achieve a goal we didn't even think was possible. Let us treat you to dinner." Natasha suggested. "Are you both sure?" Diana asked hesitantly. "More than sure." Natasha responded while I nodded in agreement. "Fine." Diana grinned at us. "Here. Give us your number and what you want for dinner and we'll have it." Handing her my phone. She immediately put her number in and was a blushing mess. "Is that all Diana...?" Noticing she didn't give us a last name. "Mitchell." She's responded. "Such a beautiful name." I complimented making her blush again. We wrapped up everything and she showed us out but as we were walking I saw this little girl. She had strawberry blonde hair and had beautiful emerald eyes that looked just like Natalia's. The girl looked no older than 4 and she was clutching a teddy bear. Natasha nudged me breaking me out of my thoughts but noticed my change in demeanor and followed my line of sight. I heard her breath hitch as she noticed the beautiful little girl who was sitting alone. "Who is that?" I asked Diana as Natasha looked at me with the same hopeful glint in her eyes that I had. "We're not sure. She's been here a week and has barely spoken a word. We don't even know her name." Diana confessed. "Do you mind if I give it a go?" I asked nervously. "No one has gotten anywhere with her but you're welcome to talk to her." And with those words I grabbed Natasha's hand and we both made our way to the little girl. I crouched down in front of her and she immediately looked up. I noticed how much she looked like Natalia already. "Hi sweetheart. I'm Y/n and this is my wife Natasha." The girl just gave us a small smile but nothing more. I felt something radiating off this girl but I couldn't tell if it was magic or not because normally children didn't have powers until they were about 10. "What's your name?" Natasha asked removing a piece of hair from the girls face. The little girl hesitated in answering before shaking her head no. I didn't want to invade her privacy so I wanted to ask for permission first. "May I?" I pointed to her head. I'm guessing she felt what I was talking about because she nodded her head. I relaxed and entered into her brain and immediately found what I was looking for. Anastasia. Such a beautiful name. "Anastasia. Такое красивое имя. (Such a beautiful name.)" I'm guessing she understood Russian. "Спасибо. (Thank you.)" Anastasia said quietly. "How'd you know she spoke Russian?" Diana asked confused. "I didn't. Her name is the Russian duchess so I took a guess." Looking up a Natalia who was on the verge of crying but she had a smile on her face. I turned back to Anastasia and she seemed to relax more in our presence. "Вы можете поговорить с этой дамой? (Can you talk to this lady?)" Gesturing towards Diana. "Мы обещаем, что она очень милая. (We promise she's very nice." Natasha chimed in. I gave Anastasia a reassuring nod. The girl quickly nodded and walked over to Diana who was star struck at this point. "Thank you both." She smiled at us. "No problem. Let us know if she is having trouble. She seems to be comfortable with us." I said hopefully. "I will." Diana nodded. Natalia grabbed my hand and we were both on our way out the door.
