The Reason Why [2YEON]

Her eyes flickered open. Everything was a big fat blur at first, but then it all began to adjust, the image became clearer by the second.

Nayeon looked around not knowing exactly where she was, the lights were bright, the room was white. She brought up right hand to rub her eyes, she couldn't help but feel really sore. And then that's when she noticed.

Her belly was flat.

Panic began to rush over her as memories came back to her mind.

The crash.

Jeongyeon.

The baby.

What happen to her baby? Jeongyeon's little bug?!

"I swear to God, Yoo Yeojin, you better not make this a habit," A familiar voice said.

Nayeon snapped out of her panic haze and her eyes snapped towards the direction of the voice.

And then her heart stopped at the scene before her.

"You're lucky I love you,"

There, her fiancée was sitting in a chair so close to her. She watched as Jeongyeon placed a kiss on the baby's head before leaning close to the baby and closing her eyes.

Nayeon then looked at the tiny child on Jeongyeon's chest, she was wearing a pink onesie, her arms were curled up to her side and her tiny feet dangled on Jeongyeon's upper stomach.

She couldn't help it anymore and even though her mouth felt dry and weird she opened her mouth and asked.

"Is that our baby?"

Jeongyeon's eyes snapped open and she looked up, she was gaping.

"You're awake," she whispered.

Jeongyeon felt her heart beat faster and a smile cracked on her face the joy was over coming her and she felt tears begin to form.

"Is that our baby?" Nayeon asked this time a bit more desperately.

"Yes," Jeongyeon finally answered the question.

And Nayeon began to cry, "This is our baby girl,"

Jeongyeon nodded and then carefully took Yeojin in her arms and stood up, "I should go get the doctor,"

"Let me see her,"

Jeongyeon looked at Nayeon, a bit hesitant, she wasn't sure if Nayeon was strong enough to hold the baby, she had just woken up.

"Jeongyeon-ah please, I want to hold our daughter," Nayeon asked in a whisper.

Jeongyeon bit her lip and took a step forward towards the bed. She saw the twinkle in Nayeon's eye as she got closer. She leaned down carefully and placed Yeojin in Nayeon's arms.

"Here, careful with her head," Jeongyeon said softly.

And in that moment, Nayeon's heart melted. This was the first moment she held her daughter. A smiled appeared in her face as she watched the sleeping baby. She couldn't help but notice the similarities the baby had with Jeongyeon.

"She got your lips," Nayeon smiled

Jeongyeon let out a chuckle before leaning down and pressing her lips to the side of Nayeon's head.

"But she also looks a lot like me?" Nayeon's voice cracked, she was obviously getting really emotional, but who could blame her.

"She's a mini us,"Jeongyeon felt a sob about to come but she suppressed it and buried her face in Nayeon's hair, "You're awake," she whispered.
