"Spence, are you sure we should... Split..." Lily mumbled once she realized Spencer had already left to run around the barn. She sighed, before reaching for her gun.

JJ looked down at her phone, before placing a hand on Lily's shoulder.

"I'll go over there to see if I can get any type of signal."

"Alright." Lily nodded. "I'll be here."

JJ walked a few steps away from Lily as she stood in her place, gun at the ready just in case. Not half a second went by from when Lily lost JJ from view, the door from the barn swung open. Lily turned around fast, lighting up her flashlight and turning toward the big door.

"Spencer?" She called. "Reid, is that you?"

She walked carefully into the barn, trying to avoid any type of danger. As she was lighting up the way ahead, she heard a squishy sound. Holding her breath, she pointed her flashlight down, only to see she had stepped into a puddle of blood.

"Oh..." She groaned, pulling her foot back.

She was about to call for Spencer again when she heard a growl. She frowned, before pointing her flashlight toward the source of the sound. Sitting there, with its teeth showing, was a large black dog. Lily sucked in a sharp breath, before taking a step back, but as soon as she moved, the dog jumped toward her.

They both heard a scream and a shot being fired.

"Lily!" They yelled together, but from different sides of the ranch.

They both took off to find her, but Spencer got hit by a fist, so JJ was the only one to get to the girl. She also screamed when she entered the barn. There, fighting to get a grip of her gun, was Lillian, being attacked by two dogs while a third laid lifeless on the floor.

Without thinking twice, JJ pulled out her gun and aimed at the dogs, somehow managing two perfect shots. When the dogs fell, so did Lillian. JJ ran to her side.

"Lily!" She yelled, as she kneeled beside her friend, taking in her very scratched and bloodied body. "Lily! Look at me. Keep your eyes open, Lil, come on..."

She was pleading, she was crying, she was sobbing, but right now... She didn't care.

"Did you... Did you get a signal?" Lily asked, weakly.

"No." JJ cried. "No, I didn't. But the team is coming. They'll come look for us."

"What about... What about Spence?"

"I-I don't know."

"You've got find him, Jay."

"No." JJ shook her head. "No, Spence is fine; you know that, Lil... Right now I need you to... No! Lily... Look at me! Come on Lily, please..."

But it was too late. The youngergirl suddenly felt heavier in JJ's arms as she closed her eyes and allowed theunconsciousness to take her away.

No one except for Hotch knew that she was coming back, so when JJ spotted the familiar flaming red hair through the glass doors, she gasped.

"Oh my God." She whispered under her breath, making Emily, Spencer and Morgan look at her from their desks. "Oh my God..." She said a little louder, running down the few steps that separated her office from the bullpen toward the girl. "Lily! Oh, God, Lily!"

Lily giggled as she encircled JJ's waist in a hug as the blonde woman almost collapsed over her.

"Missed you too, Jay." She giggled.

At the sound of her voice, Emily, Morgan and Spencer got up. The first two with a smile on each of their faces.

"Lily!" Emily cheered, causing Gideon to look up from his papers and look through the glass of his office. He smiled once he saw the youngest member of the team in JJ's shaking arms.

Once he left his office, so did Hotch. The older man smirked, taking his glasses off.

"You knew?" He asked.

"Of course I did." Hotch smirked back. "I'm her boss, after all."

"I'm so sorry, Lily... I'm so sorry..." JJ cried in Lily's shoulder.

"Jay..." The younger woman cooed, shaking her head and patting her friend's hair. "JJ, look at me." She said, pulling away from the hug and making JJ stare at her green eyes. "It wasn't your fault, okay? Don't blame yourself, you understand me?"

"But if I..."

"You understand me?" Lily asked, more sternly.

JJ only nodded. Lily did the same before leaving JJ behind and rushing over to Morgan and Emily.

"Glad you're okay, doll." Morgan said, as he hugged her. She giggled.

"Welcome back." Emily smiled.

Over Emily's shoulder, Lily smiled at Hotch and Gideon, who returned the gesture, before she turned to face Spencer.

"Hey, Spence." She said, taking a step closer to him.

"Hey." He mumbled.

"It wasn't your fault either." She shook her head, as he looked down. "Spence, please... It wasn't your fault."

"But it was my idea to split up. If something had happened to you..."

"It didn't."

"Of course it did, Lillian!" He yelled a bit, and Lily flinched. "You were in the hospital for three days."

"But I'm okay now, Spencer. And that's what matters, okay?" She pleaded and he looked at her. She smiled gently. The movement she did with her nose whenever she smiled only making the scar in her face to stand out. A permanent reminder of what he had done to her. "Can I get a hug, pretty boy?"

Despite everything, he chuckled and opened his arms. Lily squealed as she ran to him and engulfed him in a hug. Everyone smiled at the scene.

"Did I hear Lily's name being yelled?" Penelope asked as she left her office. Her eyes fell upon the girl still in Spencer's arms and she gasped. "Lily!"

The girl was fast to step back from Spencer and turn, just in time to be squeezed in one of Penelope's bear hugs. She laughed against her friend's body.

"Hey there, Penny."

"I was so worried." She mumbled.

"I know." Lily whispered. "But now I'm okay." She said, stepping back from the hug. "I'm back, guys. And I'm okay."

"Good." Hotch said, from his place at the higher baseline where his office stood. "Because JJ has some letters you need to translate."

"Defy me." Lily smirked at him, before turning to JJ.

"They're in Latin, we think." The blonde woman said, as she walked off to grab the file.

"Oh, come on, guys..." Lily laughed, letting herself fall down in her chair. "I said defy me. Latin won't even make me sweat."

They all laughed. JJ threw thefile on her desk and winked. Lily giggled. And once again, everything was backto normality.
