Xia
Xia woke up in her bed with Chris at her side. She couldn't help but admire how cute he looks when he's sleeping. There was no way she could wake him up.
She reached over and grabbed her iPhone off the charger. She looked through her workgroup chat to see if anything interesting happened at the club. She stopped at Jaebeom's message before clicking on the group message.
Xia saw that Jaebeom sent her a video. She clicked on the video and saw G. Soul singing No way, and she couldn't help but smile.
"He's such a nice guy," she hummed to herself. That put a smile on her face, because she needed something to give her strength before visiting Chemin.
She quietly crawled out of bed and went into the living room. She sat down on the couch and dialed the nurse. "Yes, My name is Xianny Jones, and I am calling to check on Lee Chemin."
"Yes, give me one moment," the nurse said.
"Okay, thank you,"
"Yes, Mr. Lee is doing good. We realized he suffered lithium toxicity," she said.
"Lithium? What's that?"
"Mr. Lee has been taking lithium to manage his bipolar disorder for the last twenty years, and sometimes after taking it for a long period, these things can happen. We need to put him on a different medicine. I do need to tell you that it can cause him to be different."
"Bipolar disorder? He never told me about that, nor did he tell me he was taking any medicine," Xia sighed. She knew that Chemin didn't like talking much, but maybe it was because of the medicine.
"Yes, I am sure you are aware of the stigma of mental illness. We will work on getting him adjusted. The lithium toxicity took a lot out of him. Thankfully, he was brought in when he did. His kidneys failed, but they have recovered."
"Are you serious? Why didn't anyone tell me yesterday?" Xia almost dropped her phone. She tried to keep a friendly demeanor, but she didn't like what she heard. Why didn't anyone call her, and why is she just not hearing this?
"We didn't know what happened. We were still doing tests, and we have discovered today that it was lithium toxicity," the nurse explained.
"Okay, sorry, I just care about him so much. I just can't imagine losing him. He's like family to me. Blood couldn't make us any closer," Xia said.
"Well, he's going to pull through. The only thing we have to monitor is how he will react to this psychiatric medicine. It takes time to adjust, and we want to keep him here until he's stable. Do you consent to that?"
"What type of medicine? Is it in a pill form? What are the side effects?" Xia reached over a grabbed a pen and paper from the table. She started to write down what the nurse was telling her.
"We are going to try Depakote. It's not as good as lithium, but it will do. We will give it to him in pill form first, and if he refuses by mouth, then we will have to give it to him via injection. Injections are a last resort," the nurse explained.
"Okay, what are the side effects of the medicine?" Xia wrote down everything she said.
"Some common side effects may be hair loss, diarrhea, weight change, and tremors," she said.
"Ugh, he needs to take this medicine, huh?"
"Yes," she replied.
"Can I see him today?"
"Yes, he's been asking for you all morning," the nurse said.
Xia looked over at the clock on the wall, and it's only six-thirty. "Aww, I will be there soon. I just need to get ready. Thank you for all the information. Could you also have this in writing for me? I want to do my own research on this medicine."
"Not a problem. We will have that information waiting for you, and we are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to answer any questions you have about him," the nurse replied.
"Great, thank you," Xia ended the call. Why didn't anyone tell her about his diagnosis before? She's known him since she moved to Korea, and not once did her grandma mention it.
She couldn't remember him ever acting any differently, either. Does Jaebeom know? Should she bring it up to him? She had so many thoughts on her mind. It didn't matter or change the way she feels about Chemin. She's definitely not leaving his side now.
He most likely not getting out of the hospital anytime soon, and she has a lot of responsibility on her hands. Not to mention Jaebeom wants her to come to the studio, and Chris wants her to go to his meeting with Jinyoung next week.
Jinyoung.
Is he going to act differently when she shows up to the meeting with Chris? Of course, she's going there for emotional support, but she doesn't want to be distracted. It was somewhat weird for Jackson to text her at the request of Jinyoung. Who was this guy anyway?
She decided to search for his name because she didn't know anything about him. She typed in his name into Naver and watched all the results come up.
He's not married, nor does he have kids. He's worth 50 billion wons. She was intrigued by this man and that he started his entertainment company when he was eighteen.
She scrolled through his pictures to see if he's been linked with anyone, and she couldn't find anything. The man was definitely attractive, but she still wasn't interested in him.
She proceeded to get ready for her day.

She wrote a note to let Chris know she would be back and to stay here. She kissed him on the forehead and walked out of her bedroom door. She grabbed her purse and pulled out her phone to call a kakaotaxi. She walked downstairs, and she saw Jaebeom standing outside his car.
"Umm... are you stalking me now?" She eyed him, and he looked good in his baggy t-shirt and jeans. She always liked the way he dressed outside of the club.
"Nah, I was out running a few errands and wanted to see if you wanted a ride to the hospital. I know you like to do things early in the morning like me," Jaebeom said.
Jaebeom knows her better than anyone else. She was a morning person and liked to get everything taken care of early in the day. She rolled her eyes at him. "Let's go," she reached to grab the door handle.
Jaebeom moved her hand. "I got it," he said.
"Okay," she moved so he could open the door for her. "I am still not going to let you fuck," she laughed. She got in the car, and he closed her door. She could have quickly taken a taxi to the hospital, but she also had no problem going with him. Plus, she wanted to see what happened last night.
"You say that now. How was your night off?"
"It was okay. Was Jackson there?"
"Yeah, why? Are you crushing on Jackson?"
"Eww, no. Jackson is like a brother to me. Wait, did Songlee try to take you home?" Xia asked.
"Of course not. She was acting like she's going to take the club. I don't know what she said to Junie, but be careful."
"I am not worried about her. She doesn't give a fuck about Chemin, so why would she think she can run his club," Xia couldn't understand what she had against her father.
"I don't know. I mean, we don't know the real reason why she doesn't like him. Her mom did leave them for another man. She moved to the states, and they never heard from her."
"I know. Thank you for my video. That made my day. Did anything else happen? Isn't Hoody performing tonight?" Xia asked.
"Yep, I know you love her," Jaebeom looked over at her.
"Nah, she loves you. Now, that we aren't together, she will shoot her shot," Xia said.
"You think I should go on a date with her?"
"No," Xia said.
"Mmm.. why not?" Jaebeom probed further.
"How are you going to go out with her? You know she's going to post everything online, and then G. Soul is going to ask us a million questions on why we aren't together,"
"So, you don't want him to know we broke up," he said.
"I mean, I want this session to go smoothly. I want him to focus on your music. He loves us together, so let's just act as nothing has changed," Xia said.
"Xi, I don't want you to do this for me. I don't think he'll make a big deal out of it."
"We have known him for years. He's the reason we started dating. Let's just get through the session first before we start telling him anything."
"Okay," he said.

"Chemin! I got you flowers and a balloon at the gift shop. How are you feeling?" She sat on the edge of the bed.
"Xia, I am glad you are here."
"I know. How are you?"
"I am good.. ready to get back to the club," he said. She observed him, and he did look better than when she saw him yesterday, but he wasn't in any shape to return to the club.
"It's no rush. Last night was another sold-out show. Junie, Jaebeom, and I are handling everything."
"Good," he looked up at the door, and she turned around to see Jaebeom standing there.
"Aww, my favorite couple is here," Chemin said.
"Chemin, I told you that we weren't together," Xia tried to correct him. Sure, she would try to fool G. Soul, but she wasn't going to do it to Chemin.
"You two always break up, but you are made for each other. Plus, I don't want you with that Bangchan guy. Something about him isn't right," Chemin said.
Hearing that made Xia's heart sank. She didn't want to pry, but at the same time, did he know something she didn't. Was Chris playing her to secure a performance deal at the club?
"What's wrong with him?" Xia asked.
"He's a great singer, but there's something odd about him. I can't put it into words. I can tell he wanted you because he asked about you during our first meeting when I booked him for the club," Chemin said.
"How did he know about me?"
"He saw a picture of you on my desk. Just stay away from him. Trust me on this," Chemin said.
She wasn't going to argue with him. While she did trust his judgment, she had already caught feelings for him. It wasn't like the man wasn't lying in her bed right now. Those details aren't important right now.
"I do trust you."
"Good. I love you, Xia. I want the best for you," Chemin said.
"I love you too," Xia said.
"So, has my daughter been by the club? I am sure she knows I am here," Chemin said.
"Yes, she stopped by last night. She's doing okay," Jaebeom said.
"Do you two fight?" Chemin asked.
"I had the night off. Junie wanted me to get my head together. I saw the paperwork. Why didn't you tell me you put everything in writing for me to handle the club?" Xia asked.
"Because I knew you would beg me to change it. You might as well get ready because if these people try to poison me, then you will own then club," Chemin said.
Xia and Jaebeom both looked at each other. Xia grabbed Chemin's hand. "Chemin, what are you talking about? Nobody is going to poison you," Xia said.
"Don't trust these doctors. They don't know what they are talking about. Just promise me you two will take care of each other," Chemin said.
"We will," Jaebeom stood behind Xia and wrapped her arm around her.
"Of course, Chemin," Xia said.
