Keira's POV

"No, I don't think this is a good idea, baby. What if they're upset with that?" Ophelia asked and she looked so worried for us.

"Don't worry about it, I will go home with you if the thing doesn't go well with them," I assured Ophelia and gently squeezed her hand.

Ophelia's eyes flew wide and grasped my hand with a soft tug, "No, don't do that, baby. Why didn't you talk to your parents about this before taking me to see them?"

I closed my eyes with a sigh. Deep down, I was so afraid of their response, and I didn't want Ophelia worried for us. But, she was the best assurance for me to be brave and to talk about us with my parents.

I eventually opened my eyes to look at her, I cupped her face and explain to her, "I think that's only the way to make this work, Lia. Everything will be okay and I will keep you by my side no matter how, alright?"

Ophelia's face softened a little and she seemed to comply and nodded her head at me. I tilted my head and looked at her for a while and assured her, "Maybe they would instantly accept us since they are never against my friends and cousins who are in same-gender relationships."

"They support your friends and cousin, but I don't think they would support their own child," Ophelia said as her eyes looked down at her lap.

I leaned in pecked on her lips and said, "Don't worry about it, Lia. I would make sure everything goes well. But, I need your support for me to do this."

"Okay, I will always get your back," Ophelia's eyes lit up, and resumed her cheery smile that I adored a lot. "But, do you think you need to get your sweet supporter a breakfast treat before ready for the press conference with Mr. and Mrs. Harrison, Miss President?" Ophelia wiggled her eyebrows at me. I couldn't help but laugh while shaking my head at her adorableness.

"Hot coffee with cream and sugar and a big breakfast?" I suggested after calming down from laughing.

"That's great! Now drive!" Ophelia eagerly agreed with a squeal as I shook my head and gently pinched her cheek.

"Alright, kiddo," I chuckled to myself and ignited my car to start driving.

******

"Here we are," I said while parking my car at the front of the porch and I was surprised there had no car. I had assumed that my parents would have their tea time since it had passed 10 am, and they suppose would be home.

"Wow, I like your house. It is beautiful and looks so homey," Ophelia said while her green eyes were gleaming and gazing around my house through the windshield of my car and she seemed intrigued. Even though it was a typical single-family house that could see everywhere in town.

"Do your parents like gardening?" Ophelia asked while looking at me with a wide grin. I smiled at her observation because she could instantly see there the pots of flowers rounded outside of the porch planted by my parents. They were absolutely flower lovers.

I nodded my head at her in return and asked, "Are you ready?"

"Yes, of course!" Ophelia beamed.

"Let's go then," I said, and we got off my car to take our bags from the backseat. I was lying if I didn't miss the cozy car after a few seconds. We jogged to the porch and we didn't need to catch a cold in the wintertime. Gratefully, the front door was opened and my mom stood aside for us to enter the house.

"What takes you so long to pay us a visit after months?" Mom sounded like scolding with a playful glare yet she stretched her open arms at me. I chuckled while putting our duffle bags aside, and I walked toward and pulled her into a firm embrace as I pecked her cheek, "I'm sorry for the delay, Mom. Here I am."

Mom giggled and gave a squeeze of a hug in return before pulling away and she smiled at Ophelia, "Let me guess. This gorgeous might be Ophelia."

I swiftly held Ophelia's forearm to pull her closer as her eyes grew wide with a smile. "Why, thank you. It's my pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Harrison." Ophelia smiled sweetly at my mom, as she slipped the strand of her hair behind her ear and stretched her hand toward my mom. However, my mom pulled her into a hug with a grin and gently patted her back.

"The pleasure is all mine, sweetheart. I'd prefer you call me Kelly," my mom chimed in and I tried to stifle my laughter when I saw Ophelia give a few light pats on my mom's back in return afraid she would break her bone. She looked at me and mouthed 'I can't breath'.

"Why don't you take Ophelia to your room and get some rest before we have lunch?" My mom asked while she was still holding Ophelia in the circle of her arms as her child, and Ophelia was looking at me with a bright grin.

"Okay, Mom. Anyway, Is Dad coming back and joining us?" I asked while I took the duffle bags of mine and Ophelia quickly joined me to take hers after my mom let go of her.

"He is not coming back until late afternoon, he is having a high school gathering," Mom said and she waved us to go back to my room while she walked into the kitchen.

"Your mom is cute," Ophelia said with a soft giggle and her hand hooked on my upper arm when we were walking up to my room with a staircase.

"Maybe you will change your mind when you see her turn green," I quipped while Ophelia snorted with laughter yet quickly shut her mouth as afraid my mom would hear it.

"That's not nice for saying your mom like that, baby," Ophelia mocked a disbelieving face and added, "She is sweet."

I chuckled and I opened my bedroom door as I stood aside for Ophelia to walk in. "Wow, your room is dreamy!"

"Surprise!" I jested while closing the door behind me and I walked closer to her to take her duffle bag of hers from her and ready to put them in my dresser. Everyone would be surprised to see my room since they knew my favorite colors are black and white, but my room was white and pink including my bedsheet and furniture. It was my mom's idea for the room, but I wouldn't complain since a comfy bed was the matter for me.

"Surprise indeed!" Ophelia said while she wrapped her arms around my neck to draw me closer and I brushed her lips, "There will have more for you to find out."

"Oh?" Ophelia teased as she gently nibbled my lips and I gave in and deepened our kiss. I dropped our duffle bags on the floor and tried to lift Ophelia she quickly hopped on me with her legs wrapped around my waist. I carefully laid her back on my queen size bed, we broke our kisses and I lay next to her and panted.

"Are you going to share more surprises with me?" Ophelia asked while weighted herself atop me and I laughed. I had no idea where her energy came from.

I cupped her face and smiled at her tousled lock curtain down to her oval lovely face. "We can keep that afterward." I gently squeezed her cheek and suggested, "Let's take a little nap."

"Boring," Ophelia pouted her lips at me.

"Do you regret now?" I teased as I pecked her nose and looked at her with arched one of my brow.

"Kinda," Ophelia smirked at me.

"Seriously?" I mocked an offended gasp as she burst out hearty laughter and I wrapped my arm around her back to press her closer for me to reach her neck and I nibbled her neck. Ophelia craned her neck and her laughter grow louder with tears in her eyes.

"Dammit! But, I'm not gonna let you win!"

"Keira, can you give me a hand?" my mom's voice suddenly muffled from outside of my room, followed by a loud thud on my bedroom wooden flooring with Ophelia's groan.

"Lia!" I swiftly turned to look to my left side and I found out Ophelia was lying on the floor as she winced in pain. "Ow, my back!"

I got off my bed and reached next to her carefully helping her sit up. I soothed her with a hand and caressed her soft spot while she was pursing her lips at me. But, right after a second, I laughed. "You shouldn't have to worry that my mom will go into my room without asking."

"But, you should tell me earlier then!" Ophelia cried out as she hissed in pain.

"My bad," I chuckled as I pecked her cheek and her lips twitched with a brief smile. I knew I might need to do a little thing, and I plant a soft kiss on her lips. She constantly grinned and said, "You better lock the door next time. Just in case."

"Yes, I will take note of that," I lifted my pinkie for Ophelia as she happily linked it with hers. I tried to stand on my feed and I helped Ophelia right after that. I put my hands on her hips and said, "I'll be right back. You can stay here and do anything you please."

Ophelia hook her arms around my neck and said, "I'll go with you. I'll be a good helper for both of you."

I shook my head at her and said, "Nope, be our guest, Lia."

"Okay, but don't take it too long," Ophelia said softly and she smirked, "Because I will miss you."

"Don't worry, I won't keep you waiting," I assured with a wink before leaving the room and not to forget looking at my favorite blonde once again who was giving me a small wave.

When I was walking down the staircase, I saw the food in the kitchen had been cooked and could be ready to be served anytime. I rolled my eyes to myself knowing my mom was making excuses for me to have a talk with her. Once I entered the kitchen, my mom was grinning with her back lean against the counter.

I leaned against another side of the counter and faced her with folded arms and waited for her to talk. I was lying if I wasn't nervous at all since I could sense my mom would see something in between Ophelia and me.

"So, are you and Ophelia together?" my mom was always straight to the point, and that was too fast for me to react and admit. "Oh dear, you are blushing!"

I groaned and quickly used my hands to cover my face and I just realized it was hot.

"I knew it!" I could hear my mom say with a gleeful tone.

I slowly left my hands on my face as I looked at her and asked, "Will you accept Ophelia, Mom?"

"Of course, she is a sweetheart!" Mom said with a grin as I was half relieved. I took her hands and smiled, "Thank you so much, Mom. It means a lot to us."

"You know Mom and Dad will always want you to be happy," Mom said softly.

"Do you think Dad will be okay with that?" I asked my mom in worried since I knew Dad would have a conservative mindset even though he admitted that he was never against same-gender relationships.

My mom shook her head and assured me, "He loves you, sweetheart. I know he would be happy for both of you." She gently squeezed my hands and said, "Otherwise, I will let him sleep on the couch tonight if he disagrees with me." We giggled and started serving lunch.

Ophelia and I settled on the couch and watched HBO after we had a nice lunch prepared by Mom. Ophelia never disappointed a great feedback to my mom with the evidence she ate the food like there had no tomorrow. My mom was too happy and she was baking an apple pie, my favorite pastry in the kitchen for us as a sweet treat since Ophelia admitted she loved my mom's cooking.

"Do you enjoy what you're looking at?" Ophelia teased as her lips formed into a smirk while her green eyes were reflecting the tv screen.

"Indeed I do," I admitted as I took her hand and plant a soft kiss on the back of her hand. Ophelia bit her lips and said in a small voice, "Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy it." I chuckled as I feather-kissed her knuckles and she turned to blow me a kiss. When we shared a look, Ophelia nodded her head eagerly in agreement as I swiftly rose my seat and helped her before dashing up to my room for privacy, but there had a doorbell interrupting us.

Ophelia quietly groaned with pouted her lips as I shrugged at her with an apologetic smile in response. I had to let go of her hands before I opened the front door for either my dad or a random guest. I rolled my eyes after I peek the door hole and opened the door.

"Damn! I miss you so so much!" Casey squealed and gave me a break-bone hug.

"What bring you here?" I teased as I hug my best friend in return.

"You're so mean!" Casey snorted and playfully hit my arm when we pulled away as she sang along loud, "Oh dear, Kelly! Your sweetheart is right here!"

"Come on in and give me a hand, sweetheart!" my mom replied with a giggle and Ophelia burst into hearty laughter. Meanwhile, a new voice caught Casey's attention as she whipped her head to look at Ophelia next to me, and could tell she was stunned by the evidence of her lips slack ajar while blinking her eyes.

"What's your name, gorgeous?" Casey said in awe as she happily stretched out her hand toward Ophelia.

"It's my pleasure to meet you. I'm Ophelia," She gladly handshake Casey in return.

"Casey," My best friend winked at Ophelia as I cleared my throat for their attention and said, "Okay, Casey you should go and help my mom."

"Do you wanna join us, Ophelia?" Casey said as she wiggled her eyebrow at Ophelia. I quickly pushed her to go and she laughed before entering the kitchen to join my mom.

The kitchen was constantly filled with laughter from my mom and Casey. I sighed as I turned to look at Ophelia who was grinning at me while she was leaning against the door with folded her arms around her chest.

I walked closer and gave Ophelia a brief kiss and asked, "What makes you get entertained?"

"My jealous girlfriend is hot," Ophelia said with an amused smirk.

"Do you like it?" I teased as I tilted my head and looked at her.

"I'm a fan of it," Ophelia replied with a chuckle.

I couldn't blame Casey since she was a lesbian and Ophelia was eye candy. I pecked her lips again and said, "Well, I should have told her first. But, since she is around today I can get the right time to tell everyone at dinner time."

"That will be okay for me, baby. As long as you're ready for that," Ophelia smiled softly in return.

"Thank you, Lia. I'm more than ready," I said and gave Ophelia a hug as I took her to return to the couch again and waited for the pie to be served by the ladies in the kitchen.

We had spent another hour in the living for the pies along with my mom and Casey and we all were getting in the high peak of the conversation.

"Looks who is here!" My mom said as we all shifted our direction to the front door, my dad was entering the house and he was changing his shoes to the home wear shoes. He took off his coat with a long sigh, "Good day, ladies. It had been a long day just now."

"Dad!" I called out with a grin as my dad spread his arms wide with a chuckle, "Are you going to give me a nice hug, sweetheart?"

"Sure, Dad," I said while I glanced at Ophelia I looked at my dad and said, "Dad, meet Ophelia. I think you had heard a lot about her from me."

I rose my seat as Ophelia followed me and my Dad stepped closer to stretch his hand toward Ophelia and smiled, "It's good to see you, Ophelia. Call me Peter."

"It's my pleasure to see you, Peter," Ophelia replied and handshakes with my dad. I didn't forget to give my dad a hug as I promised. Casey was never shy to for asking a hug from my dad as well since she was like my family and my parents loved her as their kid either.

My dad was a great listener, and the best support for my study and career. I smiled to myself when I flashed back to the first time I returned home and shared a long cry in my dad's arms after I had overheard the criticism of the people from the office. He let me cry and we shared a long chat after I had calmed down. I was grateful he gave me so much courage to fight for the chance I had taken and knew I couldn't make it this far without my dad's support.

It was always so good to talk to my dad. Somehow, I was getting nervous to open up about my sexuality with him.

I looked around the dinner table and everyone was engaging in a chat. I paused and looked at Ophelia was eating the food on her plate elegantly. I couldn't help but laugh since it was too odd to watch Ophelia eating in that manner. Perhaps, she got embarrassed by me during our lunchtime, and she was trying to behave.

"Stop laughing. Everyone is looking at me," Ophelia murmured as her face color tinted.

"Are you full, sweetheart?" my mom asked Ophelia in concern and I laughed louder.

"No, I just want to enjoy a nice dish from you," Ophelia quickly explained.

"That's sweet. Don't worry about it. I cook a lot today, and you can always get more from the kitchen as you please," my mom said proudly.

"I'm fine with the portion," Ophelia said with a burp.

"I'll get wine for us!" my mum said as she glanced at me before entering in kitchen.

I got the hint from my mom knowing it was time for me to announce it when the wine was served. My adrenaline was rushing with every progress Casey gladly opened the red wine and served it to us. Everyone at this table looks enjoyable, especially my dad was having a nice chat with Ophelia, but it would be my last thing to make twist of the scene after I opened my mouth.

"Alright, I have something need to announce since everyone is right here," I eventually said and everyone's attention was put on my spot.

"Am I going to be an aunt soon?" Casey quipped with a grin.

"Casey, I beg you to be quiet for a second. I'm serious," I groaned and everyone laughed.

"I assume it would be great news," my dad chuckled and looked at me in expectation.

I looked around the table, my mom was giving a nod for me as assurance, Casey seemed excited for me as she was sipping her wine, and finally, I looked at Ophelia who was smiling at me as support. I took a deep breath as I shifted my attention to my dad and said, "Ophelia and I are dating."

The dining room filled silent for a brief second, I could hear Casey got choked. I could see she coughed and my mom gently caressed Casey's back in the corner of my eyes. My dad's smile was getting stiff as he seemed stunned by my news. His face was like a statue and I was getting worried and called out for his attention, "Dad?"

"I'll go out for some fresh air," my dad said as his smile was disappearing. I wanted to ask if he was okay, but he raised his hand to stop me. He rose from his seat and walked toward the direction of the front door and left us behind.

"Since when you're the same team as me?" Casey asked as I turned to look at her who was still shocked by the news.

"Since she met this pretty girl," my mom said with a grin and indicated Ophelia who was blushing next to me. I felt bad to put her in this situation after encountering my dad's reaction.

"I'm sorry," I said softly when I reached my hand at Ophelia's hand.

"That's fine, baby. Really. His reaction was so much better than my dad," Ophelia assured me softly.

"Give your dad a little time, sweetheart," my mom said and I nodded my head in return. I was overwhelmed but I knew it wasn't a time for me to spill my tears and played my sentimental around.

"Go talk to him. He will be okay," my mom said with a smile.

"I will, but I'm afraid he would slap me if I talked again," I half-hearted joke.

"Then, he has to camp outside the house if he did," my mom sounded in a serious tone that made me laugh a little.

"That's so sweet," Casey gushed and added in, "Go, Keira! We got your back! I will take care of Ophelia."

"Thanks, but I can't trust you," I shrugged at Casey.

"Don't worry. You can trust me, baby," Ophelia assured with a grin.

"Ooomagod, that's turu lob," Casey gasped in awe.

"I'll be right back," I eventually stood up and ready to see my dad.

I took another spare coat after I put on my coat and stepped out on the porch. My dad was sitting on the wooden bench as he was looking at the light drizzling snow down from the dark evening sky. I draped the spare coat around his front and murmured, "It's freezing outside, Dad."

"Thank you, sweetheart," my dad said without looking at me. However, it seemed like he had calmed down, and I slowly sat next to him and said softly, "Dad?"

"Yes?" my dad responded with a soft exhale.

"I'm sorry, Dad," I said as I felt the words were heavy, but I try to gather my thought and was ready to tell him. "I never understand what is the sign of love, the feeling that you and Mom had shared with me. I couldn't even put my finger on it either. I had given myself a try to have a few dates with men. Bad news, it wasn't what I could relate to. I never get comfortable with any of them and I wasn't ready for that. But, everything changed when I meet Ophelia. I was attracted to her, I grew feeling toward her, and I finally understand it, Dad. I realized those were the sign of love that you explained to me. She made me feel whole and I want her in my life."

My dad's eyes were teary and he turned to pull me into an embrace, I poured all the emotion I had been holding into my chest with my tears dampening the chest part of his cloth. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. Please, forgive me." My dad's voice was dried and I shook my head in response.

"Your happiness is the matter. I'll always love you," My dad said and he circled my back as we pulled away. He used a thumb to wipe off the tears covering my face and smiled, "My sweetheart has grown up. Fight for her love."

"Dad," I murmured with a chuckle.

My dad sighed with a smile as he put both of his hands on my shoulders and said, "Love is easy, but it will take a lot of patience to make it last until the end of the time."

I nodded my head in agreement and gave my dad a firm hug and said, "I have taken a big step for us. I know nothing will take us down with you and Mom's support for us."

"That's great. I'm proud of you," my dad said and gently patted my head.

"I love you, Dad."

"I love you more, sweetheart. Are you going to join the ladies for the wine and supper?" My dad said as we pulled away.

"Sure, they are waiting," I chuckled and we returned to the house and saw the ladies giggling on the couch of the living room and watching TV.

"I'll get wine and chips for us," my dad said as I linked my arm with him. "I'll reheat the pizza for us."

A/N: 'Ooomagod, that's turu lob' It was actually a cute slang which means 'Oh my god, that's true love.'
