"Let go of me,"Walker protested.
He tried to break away from the hold of the gaurds restraining him.
He was dragged through the streets and into the palace.
"I didn't do anything wrong,"Walker said.
The gaurds didn't answer him.
The doors to the throne room were opened, and Walker was thrown onto the ground.
"Your highness,"One of the gaurds said,"The boy you asked for."
Walker looked up to where the Prince sat on his throne.
No.
It wasn't.
It couldn't be.
"Thank you Captain,"Jonah said,"You may leave us."
"But your highness,"The captain said.
"I said you may go,"Jonah said.
The Captain led the gaurds out of the room.
Jonah collapsed on the floor next to Walker.
"They didn't hurt you did they? I told them to be gentle and,"Jonah started but Walker cut him off.
"I'm fine,"Walker said pulling himself away from Jonah.
"Walker,"Jonah started,"What's wrong?"
"What's wrong,"Walker repeated,"What's wrong is you lied to me."
Jonah looked at the ground.
"You told me that you were a boy who was on the streets,"Walker said,"I thought you were like me. I thought you liked me."
"I do like you,"Jonah said,"I really do."
"Then why did you lie to me,"Walker asked.
"I thought that if you knew who I really was, you wouldn't like me. Or you would like me because of who I am,"Jonah said,"Everyone always wants something from me, I wanted you to be different."
"I want to leave,"Walker said,"I want to leave now."
He was standing now, and Jonah stood up next to him.
"Walker, please,"Jonah begged.
"Let me go Jonah,"Walker said.
"I'm not keeping you here,"Jonah said,"You can leave whenever you want."
"Good,"Walker said.
"But please listen to me first,"Jonah said.
"You have two minutes,"Walker said.
"The other day, when I met you, I realized how lucky I am. I have a family and I'm always able to eat and I have a roof over my head,"Jonah said,"I want to help more people Walker. And I want to do it with you."
"What are you saying,"Walker asked.
"I want you to marry me,"Jonah said.
"You want me to what,"Walker exclaimed.
"I want you to marry me,"Jonah said,"I want you to be my Prince, and eventually my King."
"You're crazy,"Walker said,"You're actually crazy."
"Walker,"Jonah said grabbing his wrist,"Please."
Walker looked to where Jonah had grabbed him.
"No, no, no no no, no,"Walker said,"And did I mention no."
Jonah looked down.
"I just met you a couple days ago,"Walker said,"And I apparently don't even know anything real about you."
"Yes you do,"Jonah said,"Everything I told you other than the fact that I am a Prince was the truth."
"No, there's no way I can marry someone I just met,"Walker said.
"I'm not asking you to marry me tomorrow,"Jonah said,"I want someone by my side who has the KIngdom's best interest at heart like me. Who knows better than anyone how to help."
"So, ask someone else to marry you. Literally anyone else in this Kingdom would marry you,"Walker said.
"I don't want anyone else,"Jonah said,"I want you Walker."
Walker met Jonah's eyes.
He loved Jonah's eyes.
They were the first thing he noticed about him.
"Even if I wanted to marry you, which I'm not saying I do,"Walker started,"I'm a guy, and I'm black."
"You think I care about that,"Jonah said grabbing both of his hands.
"No,"Walker said,"But everyone else does."
"Don't worry about everyone else,"Jonah said giving Walker's hands a squeeze.
"I don't know Jonah,"Walker said.
"I have to be married before I turn 19. That's 8 months from now,"Jonah said.
"When is your coronation,"Walker asked.
"After I get married,"Jonah said.
Walker rolled his tongue around in his mouth, thinking.
"Walker,"Jonah said.
Then Jonah got down on one knee and held onto Walker's hands.
"Walker,"Jonah said,"Will you do me the honor of marrying me and becoming my Prince."
Walker scanned over Jonah's hopeful face.
"7 months,"Walker said,"7 months and then we get married."
"Is that a yes,"Jonah asked.
"It's a yes,"Walker answered.
Jonah smiled and stood up before wraing his arms around Walker.
He spun him around in his arms.
When Jonah set him down, Walker grabbed Jonah's face and pulled him in for a kiss.
Jonah kissed back, wrapping his arms around Walker's waist.
"Don't be nervous,"Jonah said his thumb rubbing over Walker's hand.
"What if they don't accept me? What if they just don't like me,"Walker asked.
"They'll love you,"Jonah said,"Just like I do,"
He pressed a kiss to Walker's cheek, making the boy smile.
"Here we go,"Jonah said as the doors to the dining room swung open.
"Mother, Father. This is my fiance Walker,"Jonah said.
Walker looked to where Jonah's family was sitting.
His parents sat next to each other.
Next to them were Jonah's younger brother and sister, Avi and London (hehehe).
Their eyes scanned over Walker.
Jonah pulled out his chair for him, Walker sitting down next to Jonah.
"It's so nice to meet you your majestys,"Walker said.
Jonah squeezed Walker's hand under the table.
"It's nice to meet you too,"The Queen said,"Walker, correct?"
"Yes your majesty,"Walker said.
"Please, call me Coco,"The Queen said,"And my husband, Jody (hehehe)."
The King hadn't said anything yet.
"Father,"Jonah said.
Walker's leg was bouncing up and down nervously.
"Does he make you happy,"The King asked.
"Very,"Jonah said turning to look at Walker, smiling at him.
Walker smiled back.
"Then welcome to the family Walker,"The King said,"I hope you like pasta bolognese."
Walker was nervously pacing around his room in his robe.
Today was the day.
The wedding.
In a few hours he would officially be the Prince of Shaysire.
The door to his room opened and Jonah walked in.
"Jonah,"Walker exclaimed,"You're not supposed to see me until the wedding. It's bad luck."
"Neither of us are dressed yet,"Jonah said,"I just wanted to see you."
It was hard to be mad at Jonah when he wrapped his arms around Walker's waist and pulled him against him.
"I love you,"Jonah said.
"I love you too,"Walker said.
"But you're nervous about today,"Jonah said.
"Of course I am,"Walker said,"I'm getting married today. And not to just anyone, a Prince."
"It's going to be fine,"Jonah said,"My family loves you. The people love you."
"Until I make a huge mistake,"Walker said.
"Calm down love,"Jonah said pressing a kiss to Walker's cheek.
Walker relaxed into Jonah's arms.
"Thanks,"Walker said,"I needed that."
"Of course,"Jonah said,"I can't wait to marry you my prince."
Walker loved it when Jonah called him that.
"I'll see you soon,"Jonah said, kissing him goodbye before leaving.
Walker chuckled and turned around.
He found a box on the bed.
He looked closer and found a label.
For My Prince
Jonah must have left it there.
Walker opened the box and found a beautiful pink, yellow, and blue flower crown with gold jewels embedded in it.
He found a note as well.
I hope you like it. Since you don't have a real crown to wear down the Isle, I thought you would like this.
Walker smiled and placed the crown on his head, looking in the mirror.
He smiled.
He loved it.
He looked down at the note one more time.
