TJ followed as Cyrus was pulled into the room.
"TJ,"Cyrus called weakly reaching out his hand.
"It's okay Cyrus, I'm here. I'm right here,"TJ said clutching his hand tightly.

Babe, you send me to space and you're mine, yeah
"We need to put him under anesthetics so we can start the surgery,"A nurse said,"You have to leave."
"No, I can't leave him. I need to be here for him,"TJ argued.
"You can come and see him after the surgery is over,"A nurse said.
TJ leaned down next to Cyrus and whispered.
"I'll be right here when you wake up. I promise. Everything is going to be alright,"TJ said.
Cyrus weakly nodded and TJ let go of his hand leaving the room.

"TJ,"Buffy called coming into the wiring room where he was pacing,"What happened?"
"Cyrus, he got hit by a car and he's having a surgery down right now and...,"TJ was hyperventilating.
Buffy ran to the bathroom like she was going to be sick.
Andi sat down in disbelief, TJ continued pacing and tugging at his hair.

Cyrus' two sets of parents rushed into the room a while later.
A nurse stopped by and explained that he was in surgery and they would be able to see him soon.
"TJ, dear. What happened,"Cyrus' mother asked.
"It's all my fault I'm so sorry,"TJ said,"We decided to tell my parents we were dating and they started yelling at us so we ran and my dad chased us in the car and tried to hit me but Cyrus pushed me out of the way and my dad hit him pretty hard."
Cyrus' mom pulled TJ into her tightly.
"It is not your fault TJ,"She said.
"None of us are blaming you for what happened to Cyrus,"Cyrus' step-dad said.

A nurse ushered the parents over to her to discuss about what was happening.
TJ anxiously paced while tugging at his hair.
"He's still asleep but people can come and see him now just not all at once. Family first,"A nurse said.
Cyrus' father pulled TJ with them and said,"You are family."

Cyrus lay motionless except for breathing on the bed.
TJ ran and sat in the chair next to the bed gripping Cyrus' hand.
"He's going to be okay TJ,"Cyrus' step-mom said.
TJ looked at the boy lying in the bed.
This wasn't the same boy that he had been with earlier.
This boy was a ghost that had been hurt because of him.
"I love him and I can't lose him,"TJ said.
It was his fault Cyrus was hurt.
It was his fault that Cyrus was dying.
TJ felt Cyrus' hand start to move in his.
"C-Cyrus,"TJ called looking at the boy hopefully.
"T-TJ,"Cyrus said slowly opening his eyes.

"It hurts TJ,"Cyrus said.
"Where,"TJ asked,"Where does it hurt?"

"Don't talk or move okay, I'll get the nurses in here,"TJ said.
"I love you,"Cyrus said.
"I love you too,"TJ responded.

"He's awake and breathing with the machine but we can't guarantee the procedure worked,"The doctor said,"If we can't get his lungs to start working properly again then..."
TJ didn't respond he just froze.
He was nauseous.
He was nervous.
He was sad.
He was angry.
But most of all he was scared.
Scared that Cyrus wouldn't make it.

"He has to stay here because he's using the machine to help pump his lungs,"Cyrus' dad explain.
"We're staying,"Buffy and Andi both said.
"I'll call your parents,"Cyrus' mom said.
Andi and Buffy went into the room where TJ held Cyrus' hand while he slept.
TJ had been crying.
You could see his tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes.
"He's doing better,"Andi said.
TJ just nodded.
"He's going to make it TJ. He's Cyrus,"Buffy said.

Cyrus was awake and the nurses were changing his IV fluid since he couldn't eat.
"Are you feeling better,"TJ asked.
"Yes, but it still hurts to breathe,"Cyrus said,"And my legs hurt."
"You didn't deserve any of this. I should've been the one to get hit,"TJ said.
"Don't say that,"Cyrus argued.
"They arrested my dad,"TJ said,"He's going to court for it but me and my sister are going to live with my grandmother while it all gets figured out,"TJ said.
"Where does she live,"Cyrus asked.
"About half and hour away from our house,"TJ said.
"You'll still be able to come to school, and we'll still be able to hang out and go on movie dates,"Cyrus said.
"How can you be thinking about any of this right now,"TJ asked,"When you're like this how are you thinking about me?"
"Because you are way more important to me than anything else,"Cyrus said.

"His lungs still aren't doing well. We can't take him off the machines but if they don't start working then I don't know what else we can do,"The doctor said.
"What do you mean, can't you just give him some medication or some knew lungs and he'll be good as new,"TJ asked.
"It's not that simple,"The doctor said.
"But you have to do something. He has to survive,"TJ said.
"He's doing what he can TJ,"Cyrus' mom said.

"They're saying I'm not going to make it,"Cyrus said.
"Don't say that. You're going to make it,"TJ said gripping Cyrus' hand.
"I broke both my legs, my ribcage, hit my head, and my lungs aren't working properly,"Cyrus said.
"Yeah but you're getting better Cyrus. You're going to make it,"TJ said.
"TJ,"Cyrus said,"I need you to promise me that if...."
"No. There's not an if and Im not promising you anything except that you're going to live,"TJ said.
"TJ. You can't promise that,"Cyrus said,"I need you to promise me that you won't spend you're entire life wondering what of I hadn't died and we had gotten married. I want you to go through and live you're life."
"Cyrus,"TJ said.
"Promise me TJ,"Cyrus said.
"Thelonious,"TJ said.
"What,"Cyrus asked.
"My real name is Thelonious Jagger Kippen,"TJ said.
"Really,"Cyrus asked.
"Yeah, I thought you should know. Since it's only my family who knows,"TJ said.
"I love that name,"Cyrus said,"I've always like Kipppen too."
"Mr. Thelonious and Mr. Cyrus Kippen,"TJ said.

TJ was currently crying with Andi as they sat in the waiting room.
Buffy was living in the bathroom where she was crying and throwing up.
"They said his lungs stopped working entirely even with the pumps so they had to hook him up to air supply,"Cyrus' dad said.
"They're going to try a small surgery to remind the brain how to work the lungs. That's the main problem they think,"Cyrus' step-dad said.
"What happens if it doesn't work,"Andi asked.
Cyrus' step-mom sighed and said,"Then it's time to say goodbye."

"Hi Cyrus, how are you feeling,"TJ asked.
"Much better,"Cyrus said.
TJ looked at Cyrus in the bed.
He had a bandage on the back of the head and his air supply tubes were still on his nose.
"They said the surgery worked and you're lungs are working to pump air again,"TJ said,"They're leaving you on the tubes and the machine just in case. I told you everything would be fine."
"It almost wasn't,"Cyrus said,"But I'm happy that I get to see you and I'll get to be with you."
"The doctors said that while you're legs and lungs will heal they're still going to be very weak. They said you might end up in a wheelchair for the rest of you're life,"TJ said.
Cyrus looked down.
"You'll still want to be with me,"Cyrus asked.
"Of course,"TJ said grabbing Cyrus' hand.

Cyrus was doing much better
They were able to take him off the air support and the machines were eventually taken out of them.
His legs were healing and his rib cage was better.
The doctors were sure he'd need to be in the wheelchair for a good amount of time but possibly not forever.

"He can leave the hospital today but he needs to be on bed rest for a week and then he needs weekly checkups until further notice,"The doctor said.
TJ jumped up happily and turned to look at the smiling Cyrus.
"Everything is going to be fine. We're going to be fine,"TJ said,"You're going to be fine."
