5 YEARS LATER

I turned off the oven as I pulled the pot roast out. "Liyah!" I yelled down the hallway towards her bedroom. I smiled to myself once I heard her little feet scurring to the kitchen. "Is daddy here yet?" She asked grabbing a hold on my leg. "No not yet, but can you set the table for me? Im sure he'll be here any second." She nodded. I turned to the counter and picked up the stack of plates and forks and handed it to her.

"Can I show daddy the drawing I made?" She asked, sitting the first fork down. I nodded. "Of course, you can go get it after you finish." She nodded. I turned around from the stove, and watched her place the last plate and fork down on the table. "Thank you baby." She ran off towards her bedroom, leaving me alone to fix the rest of the table by myself.

I sat a glass by each plate, when my phone vibrated on the counter. I turned around and glanced over to see Stasia calling me. I placed the last cup on the table, and answered.

ME: "Hello?"

STASIA: "Hey, you busy?"

ME: "Not really, Im just getting dinner ready."

STASIA: "Of course, like every other night."

ME: "You know August likes to eat as soon as he comes home, but wassup? You need something?"

STASIA: "No, I just wanted have some girl talk, but I know your tied up right now."

ME: "Oh, alright...do you want to come over tommorow then?"

STASIA: "Yeah sure, I'll call you when Im on the way."

 ME: "Alright."

I hung up the phone and sat it by my spot on the table. Just then, I heard the front door close. A smile appeared on my face, when I realized August was home. "Where everybody at?" I heard him semi-yell. I turned on my heels, making my way around the corner and to the front door, but Aliyah beat me to it.

She zoomed right infront of me, running towards the door. I chuckled and shook my head, watching her. "Daddy!" She yelled. August held out his arms, waiting for her embrace. She locked her arms around his neck, and he stood up straight, letting her rest on his hip.

"Wassup Li-Li?" She kissed his cheek and smiled. "I've been waiting on you all day, what took so long?" August chuckled. "Im sorry princess, I was workin." She nodded. "I know, I made you something." "What is it?" She wiggled out of his arms and landed on her feet.

"I'll be right back!" She ran off towards her bedroom, leaving us alone. "Hey beautiful." I turned around towards him and smirked. "Hey." I pulled him into me, kissing his lips quickly. "Something smells good, is dinner ready?" I nodded. "Yeah, I'll go make your plate." I turned around to walk away, but he grabbed my hand, pulling me back.

"Yo ass looking good in dem leggings." He whispered into my ear. I opened my mouth to speak, but the sound of Aliyah's voice stopped me. "Look!" She ran in between August and I, shoving a paper in his face. He took the paper from her and smirked. "That's you, me and mommy, see?" He nodded. "Yeah I see....but what's that?" He asked turning the paper and pointing so she could see.

"Oh, that's a puppy." He nodded slowly. "We don't have a puppy." She looked down at the ground and nodded. "I know...I was hoping we could get one." August and I both laughed. "You really want a puppy?" She nodded and smiled at him. "Can she get a puppy?" He asked looking up at me.

I sighed and shook my head. "No, we had this talk before, not until she's older." Aliyah sighed. "Pleaseeeee mommy?" I shook my head. "No, not yet, but in a few more years you can have one." She sighed again and made her way into the kitchen.

"I think you should just get her one." I sucked my teeth. "No, we both agreed that she's to young to have any pet besides a fish." He chuckled. "Everytime she bats her eyes at you, you cave in, but Im not letting you this time."

"Whatever stop makin it seem like Im soft when it comes to my daughter." I nodded. "You are, but it's okay, cause Im always the last word in this house." He smirked and slapped my ass. "Go make me a plate please." I shook my head and stepped back into the kitchen with him right behind me. I grabbed his plate off the table, as he sat down beside Aliyah.

"So what you do today?" He asked as he placed his hand on top of Aliyah's head. "I spent the day at mommy's store, and I drew a few pictures, and then me and mommy went over those boring flashcards." I chuckled and turned around from the stove.

"Boring? I thought you liked those?" She nodded. "I did, but I know all of that stuff already." She mumbled. "My baby said she to smart fo all that, she needs a challenge, ain't that right?" She nodded. "Well excuse me then." I walked back over to August and sat his plate infront of him.

"I just wanted to make sure she knows everything before she starts kindergarten in two weeks." She smacked her lips together. "I got it mommy." August nodded in agreement. "Yeah, she got this mommy." I shook my head and sighed. "Alright if you say so, but were still going to have a hour of school everyday before you start in two weeks." I sat Aliyah's plate infront of her, and went back to make mine.

"Well Im glad you had a good day." I scooped some rice on my plate and quickly looked up when I heard a knock at the door. "You invitied somebody over?" August asked me. I shook my head no. "I'll go see who it is." I sat my plate down and made my way out to the front door. I stood on my tippy toes and looked out the peep hole. I sighed once I seen Kelsey standing there, texting away on her phone.

I unlocked the door and swung it open. "Hey." She stepped inside the house, not looking away from her phone. "Hey...what brings you by...without calling?" I tried closing the door, but something stopped me. "Ow, Damn sus! You closin the door on a bitch, like excuse you." I shook my head and turned back around to see Ellis stepping inside.

"Excuse him Simone, you know he's rude." Kerri said making her way inside after him. Once she closed the door behind herself, I looked at all of them and frowned. "What the hell are all y'all doing here?" Ellis smacked his lips together. "You know damn well I came for some food, I heard you be throwin down now and days." Kerri shook her head. "He made me come over here...and I kinda wanted some food too."

I turned to Kelsey, waiting for her excuse. "And what about you?" I lifted a brow, waiting for her to look up from her phone. "I came to see my niece...and for the food." She looked back down at her phone and continued typing. "And who are you texting like that??" Ellis chuckled. "She been arguing with Craig in texts for like a hour now." I sighed.

"Y'all are arguing again? What happened now?" She fanned me off. "I'll tell you later, I gotta curse his ass out again." I rolled my eyes and turned back around to Kerri and Ellis. "Girl you really need to give me a map cause it took forever for us to get here." I chuckled. "Y'all living up in this palace, got a real girl lost." Kerri nodded in agreement.

A few months ago, August and I finally decided on moving out of his house. It just had to may bad memories, and to many other women that's been in there. And now that we're married, we wanted to get something together, something we both owned equally. It wasn't a huge upgrade from his last place, but it was more spacious, and had more luxuries than the last. And with his fame being so high now, we really wanted our privacy, so we got a house far away from the city as possible.

"My bad, you'll get used to coming up here soon." Ellis nodded. "Im goin to eat now." I sighed and followed everyone into the kitchen. "Li-Li!" Kelsey exclaimed as she went straight over to Aliyah's seat, pulling her out of it. She giggled as Kelsey placed a million kisses all over her face.

"Hey, you didn't tell me you were coming." Aliyah said as she climbed back into her chair. "Me either." I mumbled. "I know, I wanted to suprise you, did you miss me?" She nodded. "I missed you too."

I turned around to see Ellis with his plate full of food, taking a seat at the table. "You don't mind if I sit here right?" He asked August as he scooted his chair in. He shook his head. "Nah, you gon sit there anyways." He smirked. "You right."

I finished making my plate and took my seat at the table along with everyone else. "Auntie Ellis, I like your hair." Aliyah said looking up from her plate. Ellis touched his wig and smiled. "Thank you double A."

***********

"So how was work today?" I slid out of my robe and laid in bed. I rolled over and watched him undress. "It was straight, I finally got everything done for this tour that's coming up." I frowned. He knew I hated when he would bring up his tour that he had coming. I already miss him when he leaves for half the day, so months without him here drove me crazy.

He looked over at me and sighed. "Don't start, I know you don't like to talk about it, but we got to ma, I leave in two weeks." I nodded. "I know....but I just don't like to think about it, I hate it when you leave me you know." He slipped his body under the covers and pulled me into his chest. "And I hate leaving you and Liyah here, you know that." I sighed.

"She always asks me a billion questions about you when you leave, and it makes it way harder than it should be at times." He chuckled. "She's five ma, she asks a billion questions on a regular basis." I nodded. "But when Im missing you and your all she talks about, it's hard baby." He kissed my forehead and held me. "We been through these tours a bunch of times, you should have this down by now. All you do is throw yourself into your work until I get back." I laughed.

"It's the only thing that works for me. My focus is on work and Aliyah." He smiled. "I know." I turned over in his arms, wrapping my arm around his torso. "Are you gunna miss me?" I mumbled into his chest. "Of course, but can we just enjoy the two weeks we got left with each other?" I nodded. "Yeah, we can do that."
