I honestly had no idea what I should do for the plot so this was majorly procrastinated lol, I'm sorry.
STORYTIME!
Logan was constantly checking his phone for the time. Here he was, sitting in a steakhouse and waiting for his boyfriend to show up. How many times has he stood him up and ignored a romantic outing he planned? The third time this month? Logan was annoyed, but before that he was heartbroken. After his boyfriend was complaining how busy he was he finally found the time for dates and now he doesn't even bother to show up when he does have time. Logan had been waiting here for nearly half an hour. The waitress who sat him down at a table for two came back around, holding a little notepad and having a very concerned and sympathetic look on her face.
"Excuse me, sir? Are you ready to order yet? If you don't order in five minutes I'm going to have to ask you to leave the resteraunt..."
Logan felt his heart shatter in his chest. He's going to have to leave? He nods and shoots another text the waitress watching subtly over his shoulder as he sends the seventh text to his boyfriend asking where he is. She was very empathetic for his situation, based on her body language. She walked off to help another customer, leaving Logan to his melancholy. Logan looked uo when he heard the chair across from him slide open. His five minutes were almost up and he was gathering is things to leave. A boy with glasses matching his own and wearing a baby blue polo shirt smiled at him clumsily and spoke with a voice far too loud to be only speaking to him.
"Sorry it took forever! My phone died and traffic was crazy!"
The waitress glanced over at Logan and this new boy he didn't know, sighing a breath of relief for the two of them. Logan looked back at the boy, curious and fixated on his eyes. What was he doing? What was his intentions? The boy focused right back at him, smiling. He leaned across the table and held his hand up to his mouth, hiding his words from the waitress and everyone else in the resteraunt.
"Listen, whoever stood you up is a total jerk! My name's Patton. Just go with it, yeah? After we order you can tell me your name and we can have a date of our own! I'm not a fan of third wheeling my friends anyways."
He points his thumb back to a booth with two other boys, looking at the boy and Logan. Oh, those must be his friends and they must be dating. What was his name again? Patton? Based on what evidence Logan was given so far, it fit well with his personality. Logan was silent, glancing back down a table hisnphone to realize he was just shot a text. Babe: Oh, that was tonight? Whatever. Just ditch the resteraunt and come over to my place. We can have a much better time in my bed than eating any shit food~ Logan pursed his lips together into a thin line and shut off his phone. Maybe it's time to break up with him. It's only then did he notice the Waitress and the cute proactive guy were staring at him.
"Baby, don't you want to order? Or did you just get the text that I was leaving the house? I must have turned in airplane mode to early. Silly me!"
He giggled adorably. Logan didn't really want to say a word yet, infuriated with his real boyfriend. He made the irrational thought that he'd much rather have this stranger over his boyfriend every day. Logan pointed to the surf and turf, Ribeye with Grilled Shrimp, and pointed to the baked potato as his side. The waitress nodded, jotted it down, and returned to the kitchen so she can get in her order. Logan let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding in. Patton's relaxed and cheerful expression instantly changed to concerned and worrisome in the time it takes to blink. Logan might as well explain himself.
"My boyfriend just sent me a text. He wants to me go home and implied that he wants to do some rather inappropriate things to say at a resteraunt rather than a nice dinner I have had planned for a week and a half. If it's all right with you, Patton, I'd much rather stay in your company and deal with him tomorrow. Pardon me, I forgot to mention my name. It's Logan."
He watched Patton's face twist in a variety of emotions while his own face remained stone cold as ever. In the end, Patton ended up smiling and he extended his hand over the table. Logan shook it graciously, thankful for the company and the positive reaction to his story out of the adorable boy.
"Logan, wow it really fits you! Sounds super smart to match your glasses and necktie aesthetic you're going for! I'm sorry about your boyfriend being like that. It's not my business, but I would recommend dropping him. He doesn't sound healthy for you. Why don't we forget about him and try to enjoy yourself? You look really tired and you're crazy really cute and I want you to be happy!"
Logan felt himself grow a little bit flustered. This stranger thought he was cute? Logan fiddled with his gossses and somehow found himself smiling. He doesn't normally smile or break his RBF even with his normal boyfriend. Logan pushed his fringe out of his face, dealing like one of those white girls in movies after the love interest compliments them. Normally he hates feelings, but he liked these feelings. He heard Patton let out a soft laugh. Wow, he's adorable. Logan had never in his life fallen for a complete stranger before, not before tonight.
"Well then, Patton, let us make this night memorable and have a wonderful date."
Logan took his glass of water and held it up. Patton took the empty glass at his table and clinked it together. That was the moment when the waiter came back, completely forgetting to ask them to order their drinks. Everybody was havin a crazy night tonight.
