Thanks to PotterheadAndFander for coming up with that ship name. I felt like I was neglecting the noncannon side and the precious therapist so I wanted to bring them together! Also with some Genderfluid pride because I am now in love with Genderfluid Emile/Emily/Emm.
Also some transphobia at the end and stuff so trigger warning.
STORYTIME!
Remy waited outside the building where his lover worked. It used to be a small corner store that his lover turned into a therapist's office. He tapped his foot gently on the concrete and waited for his lover to walk out of the doors. Maybe they were staying late to talk with one of their common patients? Eliot was a cool person, non-binary and totally emo. Larry and Dot were kind of lame to Remy and he doesn't remember any of the other patients. He hasn't met them. Remy checked his phone for the time and the door finally opened, revealing Doctor Picani in all their smiling glory. Remy approaches the lovely therapist and tries to play it hella cool and respective because he is respective of his Genderfluid lover.
"So, am I taking my boyfriend or girlfriend out for coffee today? Or none of the above?"
Doctor Picani couldnt help but laugh. Yes, they were Genderfluid and Remy made puns on it all the time. Remy doesn't care and Remy completely accepts them. Today happens to be one of Picani's Emily days. Emily Picani is a girl today. She just can't wear a skirt or anything to work because she wants to be professional, however she was born in a male body so a dress wouldn't exactly be the best for her work environment. Emily isn't exactly out to her patients yet. Well, except for Eliot. She's out to Eliot. The way people can normally tell is by her tie color. She didn't tell Remy about this, but when she wears a pink tie she's a girl, a blue tie she's a boy, and green she's neutral. Just a little secret hint are,y hasn't caught onto yet. Of course, Emily is wearing her pink tie.
"Your girlfriend. Do you mind if I go back inside to change real quick? I really wanna wear a cute plaid skirt I found at Walmart!"
Remy rolled his eyes and nodded, allowing his girlfriend to squeak and rush back inside. Remy pulled out his phone and decided to go take a selfie. He brushed his bangs off to the side and flicked down his sunglasses. He posted the selfie to Instagram and tweeted that he was going out on a date with his girl before slipping his phone back in his pocket. Remy watched the door open and Emily walked out wearing the cute plaid skirt hat Shen planned. She was wearing a yellow cardigan and a cute pastel pink shirt with a bright rainbow unicorn saying dream big in big white letters. Remy felt his jaw drop all the way down to the floor.
"I was so happy when I found this shirt! So, what do you think? Am I a pretty girl Remy?"
Emily grinned and spun around in her plaid skirt. She felt pretty and she felt super happy. Emily didn't exactly have long hair, but that didn't mean she wasn't a girl. Remy suddenly took her hand and pulled Emily in for a long and tender kiss. They had to have been together for at least a handful of minutes before they both broke away panting. They both were smiling and Remy flicked his sunglasses back up. He must have taken a selfie or two before she came back out here. His eyes looked her up and down one last time before he gave Emily a huge compliment. Gaga fans are going to go Gaga over the next dialogue.
"Gurl, you're prettier than the queen Gaga herself! No need to even think of asking me that! You look stunning! Now, are we going to get to Starbucks or not? I know you love the cake pops and I wanted to make sure you get all the sweets you want."
Remy grabbed Emily's hand and laced his fingers in hers. They had a coffee date to get to didn't they? Emily followed Remy and he flicked his sunglasses back down. He had to be the cool bad boy didn't he? Sassy bad boys are always a soft spit in Emily's heart. There was a Starbucks on the other side of the community center that they can simply walk to. Since it's about six in the evening, lots of children were out getting dinner with their folks. Emily would love to be a parent one day, but her genderfluidity made her question if she'd even be a good parent. Remy also thinks he isn't cut out to be a father anyways. If they wanted one so bad, they could adopt. But for now they can just be a couple.
"After you, Darling~"
Remy held the door open for Emily. Emily giggled and walked inside. Lots of small children and happy parents and couples littered the tables. It was kind of busy, but Emily didn't mind. They can just get it to go. Emily waited for Remy to walk inside next to her. Emily held onto his arm and they walked in line. Apparently the woman and man in front of them had a problem with Emily for some reason neither of them couldn't understand, because the woman covered her small child's eyes and the man started a conversation that neither of them really wanted to be in after such a wholesome moment.
"Excuse me? Could you not wear women's clothes in front of my child. I don't want them believing that it's okay."
He was trying to sound like he was being compassionate and that Emily was lucky that he wasn't getting mad, but Emily just felt a little bit sad. She had to search for a skirt her size that wasn't a kilt. She thought she looked pretty today. She clutched onto Remy a little bit tighter, giving Remy the signal that she wasn't comfortable right now. Emily was already ridiculed enough for being Genderfluid so she didn't need this misgendering and insult on her body. It may have been tame and it may have been small, but it tipped Remy off. The woman took the child up to the register. The man was about to leave, content with what he said, when Remy grabbed the back of his shirt and hadn't his glasses resting on the bridge of his nose so that he had to look over them intimidatingly at the man to make his point.
"Excuse me. I will not let you insult my girlfriend like that. If you don't apologize to my girl right now I can really make you pay for it."
Emily was about to tell Remy he was overreacting and it was fine, but Remy shot her back a glance over his shoulder. Emily backed off, letting go of Remy's arm. The woman and the child got scared. The entire bust buikding went silent. The man's face went red and he looked at Emily's in pure anger. What he said next was going to be a major mistake on his part. He was going to regret every saying this next piece of dialogue. You can tell I'm trying to up the word count, right? Yeah. You know my tricks by now lol. Just read the next piece of dialogue ya nerds.
"You want me to apologize for asking a dyke to stay away from my daughter!? Fat chance! He should apologize for being a sin and a menace to society!"
Remy took the man by the collar and brought him up close to his face, letting him get a good look in his eyes before throwing him down to the ground. Gasps And screams and phone's recording and parents covering their children's eyes and people scrambling to leave rang in Emily's ears. She felt unsafe so she grabbed Remy's arm and pulled him back, not realizing that She was crying. While Remy was heavily breathing, Emily decided she would yell of the pandemonium an apology. He didn't deserve it, but Emily still felt bad for him.
"I'm sorry about that! Remy's sensitive to that word, so please don't use it!"
The man scrambled to get up and smacked Remy across the face before fleeing. Remy was about to chase after him but Emily gripped onto his arm tighter, telling him silently to stay put. She didn't want a "JD chasing Kurt" scenario to happen. The people behind the counter were all shocked and scared of the two. The entire buikding was empty except them and a couple wearing all emo black with their phones out and Gay Pride somehwere on their body. Emily got a thumbs up from one of the girls. Emily moved in front of Remy so that she was the only thing that he saw. She put her hands on the sides of his face and made him look at her and only her. She smiled at him, trying to calm her lovely boyfriend down.
"Breathe. He's gone. It's over. I'm fine, I promise! We should probably order our drinks and food and go before we cause any more trouble to the poor people working here, right? Then we can go do whatever you want! Deal?"
Remy started to control his breathing, letting the adrenaline die down. One, two, three, four, exhale. One, two, three, four, five, exhale. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, exhale. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, exhale. Remy was fine. Emily was right. They should probably get going before they cause any more trouble. Remy rolled his neck and flicked his sunglasses back onto the top of his head. He looked over at the people being the counter. One of them jumped and ran to the register. Emily was holding onto his arm, entwining her hand in his. Remy got out of his rage mode and went back to his sassy gay self. Remy cleared his throat, knowing exactly what he wanted.
"Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte And a toadted bagel, no cream cheese for me. Emily, your turn sweetie."
"Tall Chocolate Chip Frapechino no coffee extra whipped cream and two vanilla cake pops please!"
The skiddish worker hurried along to get them exactly what they wanted. Another worker behind them sighed and and rang the couple up. Emily was instantly given her cake pops while everything else had to be made still. No big deal, they had all the time in the world to wait. Emily led Remy one a table and the two emo lesbians walked up to them, an awe-stricken expression all over their faces. They pulled up two chairs and sat across from Remy and Emily. Remy rose an eyebrow and Emily instantly knew these girls were going to be good friends with her.
"I can't believe you, like, stood up to him like that for her sake! What are your names?"
"Yeah yeah! And what aren't both of y'all's identities? I'm Non-Binary and Demisexual and my girlfriend is a cisgender Pansexual. I'm kind of curious~"
Remy laughed a little bit in that sassy laugh of his. The one that Emily fell in love with. Emily decided to pull something out of the pocket of her yellow cardigan. It was the final piece to her outfit she didn't have the courage to wear. She found a Genderfluid pin at hot topic when she went with Remy a long time ago. There was also an equality bracelet there. Emily wore the pin on her cardigan and wore the bracelet around her wrist. Proud to be Genderfluid. The girls, wait one of them is non-binary, the two queens listened to Remy and watched Emily put on her button with pride.
"Ya boi is Remy and this is my girl Emily. Emily's genderfluid and I'm Cisgender and gay. Don't ask how this works because we don't know either girlfriend."
Remy got a laugh out of the two teenagers. Emily noticed that the drinks and Remy's bagel were ready. She excused herself from the table and went to go get the drinks And Remy's food. She noticed that one of the employees was lingering by the counter. They scurried over to Emily when they saw her get over there. She whisper-yelled her entire motivational speech she gave to Emily.
"You know, it's really nice to see someone stand up to people like that man. Even if it's violent, nobody should use that language around someone. Be proud, and be you sister!"
Emily giggled and took the stuff, walking back over to her table. She handed Remy his drink and bagel which she got a "thanks baby girl" in response. Emily sat down and took one of her vanilla cake pops. Pink frosting and white sprinkles, just the way she liked it. Emily smiled and ate the entire thing in one bite, humming with delight. She looked around the table with a smile. It was really nice to be accepted.
Today was an amazing coffee date.

GUESS WHO IS HECKA PEOUD OF WRITING THIS ONE!? Me! That's who! It's long and I got some Genderfluid representation! Uh, ish. It's not true entire representation but it's kind a halfway and that's good for now, right? Sorry if it isnt. I'm just a kid lol. I'm learning.
People always need to respect your pronouns. They are your preference and what you prefer and take offense to should be respected by other people. It's offensive and rude to know someone's prefered pronouns and still use the dead pronouns, just like their dead name. If they don't respect your pronouns, then you're gone. They don't deserve you. Internet hugs and blow kisses!
