Sonic's POV
My eyes twitched and so does my arms. I slowly opened my eyes. I was about to freak out once I saw this is not my room, but became calm again once I remembered everything. I looked at the window only to see it was still raining. I heard rushing water. I turned my head to the bathroom just to see the door closed. Worried as I am, I looked outside the window once again. I sighed in my relief. Mr.... Doom still haven't figured out where we are. I looked at my phone, only to see 48 missed calls all from my parents
They're obviously worried, judging by the ridiculous numbers of missed calls I see and by the situation. I merely sighed and sat up before dialing my mom's number. It was quickly answered
"Sonic?!"
"Mom..."
"Thank goodness you're fine! I thought you were harmed or... Are you alright there? Do... Do you have a place to stay? Are you sick? How are you two doing? Where's Shadow? Have you already eaten?"
"Yes mom, we're both fine. We're here at a hotel. Shadow's taking a shower. How about you mom? How are things going there?"
"Your father is finding a way to help the both of you, same goes with Mephiles. Everyone is worried sick for the both of you. Tails and Knuckles had asked me countless of times if you already answered our calls. Amy is here too"
"Mom... I'm sorry"
"Sorry? What fo-"
"I'm sorry. Because of me, you're all worried. I put you all into trouble... I... I put Shadow into even worst. This is all my fault. I-"
"That's enough, Sonic. Such nonsense. Dear, nothing is your fault. Okay? Nothing is. Look, I know what you and Shadow are both thinking, but stay strong. We agreed to your relationship because we want you to be happy. This mess will he fixed, after all, this is just a trial. To see if your relationship is strong enough. To see, if no matter what, you both will stay strong"
Hearing those words made me burst into tears
"We love you, Sonic. Whatever makes you happy, we'll support you no matter what. After all, we're your parents, we love you. And we want our son to live a happy life. Stay strong okay? We'll get pass to this conflict"
"Y-yes mom. Thank you. I.. I love you too mom"
We talked through phone for almost an hour, or totally for an hour. I even talked to Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. All asking us how we are doing. Giving us advice. Hearing them made me happy. When it was time for our goodbyes, I can't help but wonder about Shadow. About his father. About everything
"Hey"Shadow whispered before sitting beside me
"That was a long shower"I said
He chuckled in response
"Well, are you hungry?"
"No. Not really"
"Really?"
"Yes"
"Really"He playfully asked again
"Alright, I know you're hungry so I'm gonna say yes for you then"I laughed
"I'm gonna go get food later. Right now, I just wanna talk to you"He grinned
"I heard you talking to your mom and friends. How are they doing?"
"They're fine. They miss us"
"I see"Shadow nodded
"Anyway, I'll tell something to you. About father. Someone told me, he was near knowing our location. They told me we better change escape"
"Who's 'they'?"
"Ahh. A person who works for my father. Unfortunately, but fortunately for us, he said he can't stand doing his job, taking other people's happiness"

"Yes. Don't worry. He's trustworthy. Boy, I sound cheesy when I explain something to you huh?"He chuckled
"That's all I wanna tell. I'll go get food. Here's the key. In case anything happens, call me"He said before leaving
