"I've got a surprise for you," Roman whispered, coming up behind me, placing a black box in front of me.
"What is it?" I asked leaning back to look up at him.
"Open it and find out," he chuckled, pointing at the box for me to open it.
I sighed, taking the lid by the two sides, lifting it carefully to reveal a gorgeous silver necklace. "It's beautiful," I smiled, slowly lifting it up.
"Take a closer look though," he told me as I took it out of the velvet casing, raising it under my eyes to see four diamonds shining as the centrepiece for the jewellery.
"Is this real?" I asked in disbelief, running my thumb along the jewels.
"Of course they are, my girl deserves diamonds, and diamonds is what she will get." I leaned up and pecked his cheek, placing the necklace back in the box before I caused any damage.
"Thank you, you didn't have to do that," I whispered, struggling to get my head around the fact he'd do such a thing.
"You don't have to thank me, you deserve it, you've been an absolute rock these past couple of weeks for me at work."
