Jennifer's POV:
It's been a week since the basketball game and it was almost the end of October. Right now I was in my room getting ready to give my 4th period class a test.
The bell rang for 4th period so I stood up and walked outside of my classroom to greet the students that come in. Students kept coming in but not the one I was looking forward to seeing. The tardy bell rang and Arielle still wasn't here.
Where the hell is that girl? I thought to myself.
I knew I wouldn't be able to "talk" to her like I wanted to but that doesn't mean I wasn't able to look at her.
"Alright class, everyone clear your desks you guys are having a test." I said to the class. I heard a lot of groans mixed with people shuffling their things.
"Don't worry this test shouldn't be too hard if you read the assigned book." I told them. And I went around to hand out the test. When I got to Arielle's desk I couldn't help but feel a bit saddened. Even though we strictly said that we were going to have a "Teacher Student" relationship I couldn't help but look forward to her presence in my classroom.
Once I was finished handing out the test I put the rest on my desk and sat down. I then heard a knock on the door. I got out of my chair and walked to the door. I opened up only to be greeted by Arielle. For some reason today she had on a tiara and had her hair out and straightened. I examined her face and saw that she had more make-up on than usual.
"And why are you late?" I asked her.
"Tom...I mean Mr.Stewart needed to talk to me after-class." She said not looking me in my eyes. I grew jealous hearing her call him "Tom" by accident.
Were they more than teacher and student? I thought to myself.
"And where's your late slip?" I asked a little to sternly. She winced at the tone of my voice and said "Hold on." I didn't realize until she went into her purse that she had a whole bunch of balloons attached to them that said "Happy Birthday!"
Hmmm...so her birthday is October 28th. I'll keep a mental note
She took out the slip and handed it to me and walked past me into the classroom making sure not to hit me with any of the balloons.
As soon as she stepped in a whole class yelled out "Happy Birthday Arielle!" She smiled at them and put her purse with the balloons in the back of the classroom and was looking for something in her bag. While she was doing that, Paige went into her bookbag and pulled out a box that looked sort of like a ring box and stood out of her seat and headed over to Arielle.
The whole class' attention was on them. Paige opened the box and inside was a beautiful Pandora ring. She looked at Arielle lovingly and said "Happy Birthday Ari." and took out the ring and out it on her left ring finger.
Arielle was about to say something to Paige but I interrupted them.
"Ms. Agostinelli and Ms. Richardson take your tests and get out of my classroom now!" I yelled at the two girls.
Paige looked at me angrily while Arielle looked at me shocked, but her shock soon turned into anger.
She picked up her purse with the balloons and said "I'm sorry Ms.Murphy but I wasn't given a test." This caused some of the students to laugh.
I walked over to my desk and rudely handed Arielle a test. "Oh and you also have detention Ms.Agostinelli."
She rolled her eyes at me and went over to Paige and grabbed her hand which made a huge feeling of jealousy go through me and walked out of the classroom, dragging Paige and slammed the door.
The students all went back to taking their tests. Once everyone was done I just gave them a free period, I was too angry to even do the lesson plan that I wanted to.
Arielle's POV:
If that bitch really thought that she was gonna kick me out AND make me take her test, she was sadly mistaken. I was dragging Paige by her hand to leave the school building.
Paige stopped letting me drag her and stopped walking. "Um babe where are we going?" She asked.
"Leaving school...?" I asked her.
"You mean like skip?" She asked. I nodded my head.
"Ooh you're so bad." She said flirtingly.
"Shut up Paige." I said dragging her out of the school.
I actually didn't have a bad time with Paige. She took me out to Red Lobster for my birthday. I gave most of my attention to Paige but my mind kept thinking about Ms.Murphy. I thanked Paige for driving me home because I had left my car at school and went into the kitchen and stopped in front of the trash-can.
Why did she kick Paige and I out of the classroom? And why did she give me detention on top of it knowing it was almost my birthday? I mean I saw her look at the balloons. It wasn't my fault that the class laughed for some reason.
And here I was about to invite her to my birthday party. I thought to myself as I threw her invitation out in the trash.
Jennifer's POV:
Right now it was 6th period and I was in Annabelle's classroom talking to her.
"So did you get an invitation to Arielle's birthday party?" Annabelle asked curiously.
I thought about the incident that happened earlier in my classroom and sighed . "No...her and I...aren't really on 'good terms' right now?" I said to her.
"Really? What happened?" Annabelle asked.
"Well Paige kind of proposed to her during a test today and I sort of flipped out on both of them and kicked them both out of my classroom." I said embarrassedly.
I was expecting Anna to scold me about how I went to far with kicking them out of my classroom but she shocked me and said "I don't think you should've kicked Arielle out of the classroom but I think you did the right thing by kicking Paige out of the class. She was a distraction."
Her response led me to believe that she really didn't really like Paige much.
"You don't like Paige do you?" I asked her.
"I know I should since she is my student but I just can't bring myself to like her."
"Why?" I asked.
"She's annoying." She said simply.
I nodded in agreement. I knew she was lying and deep down I knew the answer to why she didn't like Paige.
"Wait so that means she skipped the rest of the day? Because she didn't show up to my class." She said
"I guess she did." I said. I couldn't help but feel guilty that now she skipped school because of me too.
The bell rang and I said goodbye to Anna and left her classroom.
The rest of the school day dragged on boringly and all I could think about was Arielle and how I had really messed up.
Why did I kick her out of the classroom she didn't do anything wrong? Was it because I was...jealous? I shook my head violently at that thought.
No it was because I wasn't thinking rationally at the time.
I sighed. I'll just apologize to her on Monday. I was getting ready to leave my classroom when my phone rang. I looked at who was calling and saw that it was Adrianna.
Why would she be calling me? I thought as I answered.
"Hey." I said.
"Hi Jennifer." She responded.
"Well what did you need." I asked her.
"Umm... I was in my kitchen and I was throwing out my apple and something in my garbage can caught my eye."
What does this have to do with me? I thought.
"Is your last name Murphy?" She suddenly asked.
"Yea...how did you know?" I asked.
"In the trash I found an invitation and I found it odd because my family never passes up a good party. So I took the invitation out of the trash and saw it was an invitation to my little sister's birthday party and it had your name on it."
I was shocked when I heard this. "Wait it had my name on it?" I asked again to make sure I wasn't hearing things.
I heard her laugh and say "Yes your name on it. So I was wondering if you would like to come?"
"Wait but it was in the garbage so clearly she didn't want to invite me for some reason." I said acting like I didn't know why she would throw out the invitation.
"Yea that's weird. I've never seen her throw out an invitation for someone before. Besides one person..." she trailed off.
"Anyways would you like to come?" Adrianna asked.
"Sure." I answered her without even thinking.
"Alright." She said excitingly. "I'll send you the address. Bye Jennifer."
"Bye Adrianna." I said and then she hung up.
A few minutes later Adrianna sent me all the necessary information about the party. It was from 8pm-2am and only people with an invitation could get in but Adrianna said that she'll handle me not having one.
I drove home and Emily wasn't there so I went into the bedroom, changed my clothes and laid down. While I was laying down a sudden happiness flowed through me.
Wait.
Arielle was gonna invite ME to her party. And here I was feeling down that she didn't want to invite but she was.
But then my mood went sour again.
Was.
She was gonna invite me but she threw away the invitation.
