You wince as the window squeaks, producing a high-pitched sound that your brother, Jaebum was SURE to hear. 'Are you sure we should be doing this?' you ask, your voice tinged with worry, easing the window open, attempting to make as little noise as possible.
'Oh come on, are you scared?' a blonde head popped in front of me, thick lips forming a grin on his baby face.
You nearly fall off the window ledge when your best (and world's most annoying friend) Bam Bam appears, as suddenly as a ghost, giving you the shock of your life and nearly unbalancing you at the same time. His hand flashes out, grabbing your wrist, preventing you from falling.
'Aish!' you whisper-scream. 'Can you not do that?' you hiss annoyed. 'I could have died if I dropped from the window ledge!'
'Be more careful,' he said annoyed. 'And keep it down will you. Do you WANT Jaebum hyung to find out? If he saw me sneaking you out like this he would probably think I was kidnapping you or running off with you. Besides I saved you didn't I?' he said rolling his eyes at your dramatic moment.
You wanted to open your mouth to argue that if he had not surprised you in the first place you wouldn't have fallen off and nearly screwed up their entire plan, but knowing his annoying tendency to win the argument by bringing in some random completely unrelated fact, you decide to let it go and focus on the slightly more dangerous task which was climbing out of the window.
Why am I even doing this? you ask yourself, as you grab the window by the ledge and swing yourself down, your hands clenching so tightly to the strip of wood that your fingers turned white in the dark night sky visible even under the faint moonlight.
Right, because my brother is an overprotective ass who won't even let me go for a high school party you remind yourself as take 3 deep breaths trying to calm yourself, trying your best not to look down from your second story bedroom window.
'Where the hell are you?' you hiss as you look around searching for your best friend who was in charge of bringing the ladder.
'Here here,' he whispered back and you could feel the nudge of metal against your sneakered foot. Your leg flails in the air for a while as you struggle to find the first rung but once you do, the rest is easy. Climbing down swiftly and finally reaching the bottom where you could plant your feet down on your lawn.
'Where did you get it?' you ask, waving your hand indicating the ladder.
'I took it from your shed of course,' he said exasperated while pointing the corner of your lawn. 'You didn't expect me to carry the freaking thing all the way from my house did you?' he asked in disbelief. He moves over to put it back but he drops it on the way creating a defeaning metallic clang. You groan and put your head in your hands, sure that your brother would be awake.
As if he was responding to your thoughts, your brother's face popped out of your bedroom window, his expression a mix of irritation, anger and sleepiness.
'Y/N L/N!' he shouts, you could feel the waves of anger radiating off of him even from all the way up there. 'If you don't get back in the house right now!' he shouts, probably waking up the entire neighborhood in the process. You stood paralyzed by fear as he glared at you until you were rudely forced out of your stupor by your best friend grabbing you by the hand and dragging you away from the house.
'Come on!' his voice urgent as we start to run, leaving your brother's shouts in the distance. A laugh bursts out of your mouth as you get the most amazing feeling: FREEDOM. Your best friend and you laugh hysterically as you run all the way to the most popular kid, Jackson's house. You stop and wheeze at his front door along with Bam Bam who looked about ready to collapse. 'That was amazing,' you manage the words, mischief dancing in your eyes as you looked at your best friend.
'So worth it,' he crowed agreeing with you. 'Although Jaebum hyung is probably going to kill you,' he teased.
'Oh who cares,' you say for once carefree.
'And THAT is why we're best friends,' Bam Bam said enthusiastically, nudging your shoulder.
'Definitely,' as youboth straighten up and enter the house together, planning to have the time ofyour lives'. JB was going to give you hell for this but it would be so wrothsneaking out for this and Bam Bam made doing these sort of things 10 times moreexciting than they should actually be
